I totally loved Last Spy Standing because it was truly a Thriller with a thrilling ending. Megan was tough and determined when she needed to be and soft and sweet enough to appreciate Mitch, who was smart and resourceful. Their interaction was exciting from the moment they meet through to the end of the story.

I'm hopeful that Dana Martin writes a sequel or more with this story line because the action and adventure and romance was outstanding. I kept getting the overwhelming feeling of being in

Black ops specialist Mitch Mendoza had thought this South American rescue mission would be routine. But the jungle held unexpected dangers: deadly snakes, armed drug runners and Megan Cassidy. The undercover CIA agent had legs for miles and a hidden agenda—one that interfered with Mitch's plans. So though he was a lone wolf, he had to keep her close, or risk letting his mission fail. After years of working alone, Mitch found himself distracted by Megan's steely resolve and her soft curves. And h ...more

This was a non-stop thrill ride. Dana Marton has such a knack for writing romantic thrillers. The danger and setting were visceral, the sexual attraction between the equally matched hero and heroine was steamy, and the conflict--while unusual, perhaps--was believable.

One supporting character was a little annoying and perhaps some of the trouble he got into was coincidental, but he was also the catalyst for a lot of the twists and turns in the story. And he did serve as a foil for the hero and he

Last Spy Standing takes you on a thrilling adventure through the jungles of South America. Plenty of dangers befall the couple throughout the book who are at odds with each other over their conflicting missions.

Mitch Mendoza works for the black ops group SDDU and his mission is to rescue a young spoiled brat who is an addict who was kidnapped by a drug lord. Megan Cassidy works for the CIA and has been undercover for a year with said drug lord in hopes of finding her brother and needs to bring

I've never read anything by this author, but I will be from now on.This ia a good example as to why I love to read books that I have won. Authors that I don't know if I'd get around to otherwise, with all the authors that I consider to be my favorites.
The style of her writing is just the kind of books that I truly get into. And some of the plot I did not guess, which is always a plus for me. I would recommend this book,it is a very good read!

May I first just say - "HUBBA HUBBA!" - to the cover!? Okay, I just needed a moment.

Last Spy Standing starts in the middle of the South American jungle, as Mitch is trying to rescue the obnoxious son of a US Governor. Zak, a trust-fund brat, has just killed the second-in-command of a Columbian druglord and he and Mitch are trying to outrun the druglord when they literally run into a beautiful American woman at a river crossing.
Turns out Megan is a CIA spy who has infiltrat

Adrenaline-charged from start to finish Last Spy Standing is heart-stopping at times. Megan Cassidy and Mitch Mendoza both bent on completing their missions, butt heads often yet when the chips are down; they make topnotch partners.

Dana Marton dumps the reader into the South American rain forest with drug runners and killers on every trail--plus, every natural enemy imaginable: snakes, spiders, and big predators. Even the vegetation a

Last Spy Standing is an action-packed adventure that will keep you intrigued from the very first page and does not stop until the last page. What should have been a routine mission for Mitch soon becomes a lot more complicated when undercover agent Megan Cassidy brings into the mix her own mission involving the deadly cartels from the jungles of South America. Mitch and Megan are both strong characters that have to work around their distrust of each other all the while a simmering passion brews ...more

Kicks off with an intriguing start but excitement tapers off towards the end. Good for a nice lazy read on a hot summer day.

Good book. I really liked the way that Megan was so good at what she did. She had Mitch fooled at the beginning, which never happened to him before. I loved the way that they went back and forth at the beginning, and how they ended up working together by the end. Megan had her undercover mission, but she also had her personal mission. Once Mitch found out about it, much as he wanted to complete his mission and leave, he couldn't walk away from her. I loved the way he was protective of her, but s ...more

In the interest of full disclosure I should say that I'm not usually a fan of romantic suspense, mainly because I'm a WIMP and don't like to read violence. However, I really enjoyed this book. The heroine, Megan, was really kick-arse, and she and Mitch were great together. I would have liked to see the obnoxious Zak get a good kick in the pants, but maybe he'll make another, less successful, trip south of the border, lol.

If you're a fan of romantic suspense, I definitely reco

In Marton's romantic suspense novel, Black Ops Specialist Mitch Mendoza was in South America on a routine rescue mission. The jungle was filled with snakes, drug runners and undercover CIA agent, Megan Cassidy. Mitch worked alone and found Megan's determination and figure distracting, but the mission forced him to keep her close. If he wanted this mission to succeed, he had to find a way to get them both out alive. A fast-paced, adventure filled story.

This book was ok. I liked that Megan was a strong willed girl who could handle herself. Mitch seemed like a decent guy. I just couldn't get into this book. I thought it was a little drawn out and I found myself skimming it sometimes. I could see this book being a first in a series. If that's the case I would give the next book a try but if it's not a series I wouldn't waste my time. Sorry....

Really a 3.5 rating. I enjoyed the story. I like strong, opinionated women with a sense of family loyalty. The hero was good too. Definitely a good, quick, and fun read.
Heather
More - um - sappy than I expected an adventure romance to be, but the characters were fine and the story was well-paced.
Teresa
Such a great story of falling in love during the most harsh times!
