I love Samael’s role in this series. He does things that benefit him while manipulating other people’s lives. Sam has decided that Gabriel needs to experience desire. Following a desire is what caused Sam’s fall. In the process of tempting Gabe, Sam plans on using Hope’s desperation to put a book into print on the internet so that the world will have access to the information in its pages.

I did not feel Hope and Gabriel’s insta-love. Hope had feelings of love immediately after a very More...

The first book in this series is Devil Without a Cause. That was the first book in which I met Sammy the Devil but this series is the offshoot of another, Nicki Styx. I haven't read those yet, but I promise you I will! So, as you can see, you do not have to have read the original series to enjoy this one... and Sammy in particular. *wink* You also don't have to read the first one to know what is going on in this book, but I do suggest it. You will understand where Sammy is coming from so much ea More...

REVIEWED FOR NETGALLEY:

Hope gives up hope, literally, when she receives the news that her sister who has been missing for two years might be dead. She has carried the heavy burden of blame, and that is the straw that breaks the camel's back. She attempts to take her own life, but quickly discovers it is not meant to be when the Devil A.K.A. Sammy Divine shows up and shocks the pants off of her. It turns out that her sister is alive, and Sammy is willing to help her locate her if she More...

I enjoyed Devil Without a Cause so when A Devil Named Desire, the second book of Terri Garey's The Devil's Bargain series was offered to me, I couldn't resist. Tired of Gabriel's lectures on love and lust, Sammy B Divine seizes an opportunity when in despair, Hope tries to commit suicide. In her moment of weakness Samuel extracts a promise from the web designer, the location of her long lost sister for the dissemination of the Key - the incantations that open the gates of hell on Earth - on the More...

Sammy aka the Devil is frustrated with being cast out from heaven and most of all with Gabriel trying to prove to him that temptation can be resisted. Sammy decides to put Gabriel to test and see if he can resist the allure of a human female and the need to touch her the way an archangel are not allowed to do. Sammy decides to put a girl in Gabriel's path and at the same time getting something that he wants in return.

Hope tries to commit suicide and wants to succumb to the darkness. More...

Oh Sammy Divine, finally we meet again. First of all can we all take a look at that fine looking man on that cover? Okay, now that we have drooled and hoped that those pants would slip a little further down, lets get down to the details of the book.

It seems like I have waited forever to read more about Sammy Divine -- or The Devil -- and the bargains he would be making with the next unfortunate soul on Earth. This time not only is he going to be tormenting a human soul on Earth, b More...

Hope has lived with a lot of guilt over the years, starting when she was 12 years old with her parents untimely death. She and her sister were separated in the foster care system, then again two years ago when her sister went missing. Hope hits bottom when she is told her sister is most likely dead and does the unthinkable.

Gabriel, an Archangel and long time "friend" to Sammy Divine, knows Sammy is salvageable and capable of love, if only he can get Sammy to see it. Sa More...

I hate being late on this review but I really struggled reading this book. I so wanted to like this book, but it just didn’t hit the spot for me as the first in the series. Sad, I know but I have to be honest.

Gabriel and Hope just didn’t carry that spark I needed for a couple to really connect. I also didn’t feel that Gabriel and Hope got enough storyline between everything else going on. I needed to read more on them instead of Sammy and so much of his life. As for More...
