Bitten by Moonlight is a collection of werewolf novellas focusing on female protaganists. One of my favourite short story collections is Women Who Run With the Werewolves: Tales of Blood, Lust and Metamorphosis so I couldn't resist this one. Werewolf stories focus on transformation and the struggle to accept the one's more primal (less civilized?) self, which, for me, can provide interesting and often thought provoking plots.

I really enjoyed this series of short novellas. It's rare that the werewolf fascination is centered solely on female characters; it tends predictably towards pro/antagonists. This was refreshing, not only because it tied into the thread of romance in a lesbian perspective that I always crave, but because these were not stories that necessarily glorified life as a werewolf. It touched on the fear, and the terror, that is inherent in the myth.

Bitten by Moonlight is a collection of four novellas focusing on female, lesbian werewolves. Not all of them are obviously lesbian, but the undertones are there in all of them. My favourite was the third, which was more overtly fantastical than the others -- obviously, since they're all werewolf stories, they're all fantastical, but it's the only one that seems to be secondary world fantasy.
