Danielle Bannister (Goodreads Author)
Naya Adams has given up on feeling loved. A walking cliché, Naya lost her parents in a freak car accident at thirteen and has been living with her detached foster ‘adults’ ever since. When Naya enrolls in one of the most respected theatre programs in New England, she is more than eager to trade in her pain for the spotlight. College would finally be the fresh start she’d l...more

When reading this book, at first I was confused because of the way Danielle would switch back and forth between Naya and Etash’s perspectives, it seemed like it was moving too much for me. After getting pulled into the story though, it ended up working out. I was able to see both sides of the story as it was happening. I really liked how this wasn’t a normal romance, yes there is a romance aspect to the story, but it was more about helping heal.

This book is one that is going to be hit or miss for some people based on your beliefs. I say that because it delves into a story of reincarnation and soul mates that some people do not believe in, which will inevitably then ruin the book for them.
Now with that said, this book really pulled me into the story because I knew that Naya and Etash both had tragic pasts even though you don’t find out for some time what those pasts are. They are drawn to or “...more

Loved this book, loved the characters but did not love the ending :-( I loved the epilogue and have immediately downloaded book 2...just wish that this book was a continuation of the characters in book 1 :-( I loved Etash and Naya, the chemistry between them was fab, although not sure I can see the magnetic pull of the twin flames theory once I had embraced it and understood what the author was trying to convey I was hooked, hook line and sinker...a fab story that I could not put down...finished...more
I have been in a bookie kind of funk lately. Nothing I am reading is grabbing me and holding me. I really think this is a case of "it's not you, it's me" in my book love life, lol. I can't say if I finally came out of the funk, or if Pulled was just that good, but I really enjoyed it! I didn't put it down all afternoon and am excited to move on to the second book.

I actually ended up buying and reading this based on a recommendation from another author I enjoy reading. After reading the blurb, I was really excited to read Pulled. I am familiar with Twin Flames and Soul Mates, and have done plenty of research on both. I was wondering whether Danielle Bannister was going to portray Twin Flames in the light that I am familiar with-and she did. I was so happy that she grasped the concept and the difference.

I was lucky enough to get this book as a prize from a competition that my husband entered and I have to say I was surprised at how much of a page turner it was. I read the whole thing whilst my husband was in a Dentist appointment and found the story pretty compelling.
The basic idea of "Soul mates" is nothing new but this puts a new spin on it with the legend of the "twin flames". The main characters are deeply conflicted and the antagonist in the story is instantly hatable making me want to pun...more

Pulled had a unique story line that had me intrigued and sucked me right in. I prayed really hard on the last page.
From a story perspective, Pulled was an excellent one. I am compelled to Google "twin flame"s and see if it's actually a part of mythology. I took a mythology class but we never discussed that topic. I love books that introduce me to new things, and I adore stories that leave me room to fill in the blanks with my own imagination. The main characters were nicely fleshed out.

It's the first day of college, and Naya is nervous enough, without her boyfriend coming up to her to make sure she was ok. It was more like checking up on her according to Naya. Any who Naya gets to the classroom first and so she sits down and reads her favorite book. Romeo and Juliet. Then we have Etash, a guy who doesn't like first days very much, and also likes to be the first person in the room to avoid everyone's stares. When he arrives he notices that another person is already there so he...more
HHHHMMMMM...I have needed to think on this book before reviewing. I absolutely loved reading this until close to the end and then I was shattered!!!!!!!
What an emotionally draining book...I kinda hated and loved it at the same time. How could two people be so broken but so perfect----they truly are Twin Flames!!! And how I cringed as Seth appeared as the story went on. His obsession was truly unhealthy....scary....dark.
It is hard to review this without saying too much, but I totally loved Etash...more

Two souls unite when a flame ignites. I won this book from the author after a contest. The story is one that will have you saying I didn’t see that coming moments more often than expected. I was so wrapped up in the story that I read it from beginning to end within 4 hours. The author of this book gets you so involved with the characters you have that I have to know what happens next feeling and it’s so heartwarming and such an edge of the seat read. This is a story so worth the read and has you...more
I received this book for the author for a review. So, first I want to thank Danielle for the book! Thank you! Now for the review:
Best part of the book: I think out of this book I loved Etash the most. From the moment he graced the page he was perfect for Naya. I loved their interactions together and the fact they were staring in a Romeo and Juliet play just makes it better!! Also, I loved their instant connection, but they were both unsure about it. Etash's grandmother was a great part of their...more

I think this is a 3.5.
Okay song choice: "Fix You" by Coldplay! Yayness.
My first thoughts and comments: It will leave you breathless.
Okay so more elaborate? Well i think this will be one of the ONLY times i will ever, ever SERIOUSLY EVER say this, ever. BUT I think i might have preferred this to be a compt. fiction. I know, I know, if you know me at all you know that is like pretty much Trekkie going to the darkside, like an Edward fan turning to Jacob. Yeah its just that epic. Anyways, i thin...more

'Pulled' is a very cleverly crafted novel. I was not quite sure what to expect after reading the synopsis and the first few chapters. Whilst the synopsis grabbed my interest, the first few chapters were a little slow and it took me a while to warm up to the main characters, yet warm up to them I did!

From the beginning to the end, I was entranced by the book and the chemistry of twin flames Naya and Etash. Their love was powerful enough to break Naya out of a self imposed need for pain in order to feel anything. Their love helped her leave her abusive boyfriend who hurt her to show his love. I loved the background stories on the two main characters, their friends, and their love for dance and theater. The ending is surprising with its tragedy, but maybe that makes sense, with how the two cha...more
When I read the reviews I expected this book to be great and the description really had me dying to read it. What can I say? It wasn't that good, I mean the idea was really good but the story fell flat for me. Naya was a bit of cry baby for me, Her boyfriend abused her on a daily basis but she felt this was ok and accepted it, The author did explain this but I still felt it was all wrong, I know abuse victims feel like it is "normal" but it just didn't seem right in this book, I cant really expl...more
I really liked this book. There were many times that I didn't want to put it down. It is well written and told from both main characters perspectives, which gives you a bigger picture of what's going on. Although it sort of had the same paranormal premise as other books out there, it went in a completely different direction and was refreshing. There was a hint of darkness and masochism in the characters. I had a pretty good idea where the plot was going and would end up, but I still very much en...more

There was a point about 40% into this book that my eyes literally did a double take because I was shocked by what I had just read, and that rarely happens to me while I'm reading. Naya gave up on feeling loved. Seth seems nice.... Etash well he's scared and believes himself unworthy. This book takes you on a journey it was beautiful and sad. And OMG the ending I would have never seen that coming , Pulled was full of surprises. I could not put this book DOWN! I can't wait to read Pulled...more

At first I wasn't sure I was going to like this book. However I listened to the tiny voice in my head and clicked buy. From the moment I opened this book I became engrossed with the characters and the story they so brilliantly told! The title of the book sums up perfectly how I feel about it. I was pulled into a story that captured my heart, kept me anticipating with ever turn of the page and left me waiting for the sequel Pushed Back. So if by the off chance your reading this review Mrs Bannist...more
I get being so in-tune with someone because of amazing chemistry, but to have super-hero-like powers because of it when it's not really a premise of the book is unnecessary and unrealistic. Don't get me wrong-I love LOVE and the attraction of the H/H, but I couldn't wrap my head around Pulled and couldn't get into it even though I finished it. It took the whole book for them to get together and then it was so rushed. Sure, they were destined to be together, but I know I won't be reading the next...more
The concept of this book sold me on it before I even read a single word. Twin flames – the other half of your soul out there somewhere in the world just waiting for you to find it. This brings the concept of reincarnation to a whole new level. It gives us a purpose. Find the one…

I absolutely loved this book. I started it on a Friday, and woke up early on Saturday to finish it ( I mean, who wakes up early on a Saturday!?)This book drew me in from the very beginning and I honestly didn't want to put it down, and became cranky when life forced me to. I loved both characters, and how their story unfolded. I did not expect it to end the way it did, which is all I can say without including spoilers. I am anxiously awaiting book two. If you are looking for a good romance, look...more
I liked the book and I believe this is the author's first book. I think the author did really well and as she progresses her books will magical. The story happened so fast and the ending sucked. Now I have to read the sequel to see what happens. I think the story will start all over again but I wish it didn't have to start from the beginning again. Once you read the book you will see what I mean. Etash was such a tortured soul but never gave any indication that there was more to his story.
“Pulled” is a great first novel by Maine author Danielle Bannister. The story immediately “pulls” you in with its intrigue and mystery, wanting to figure out the back story of the two main characters, Naya and Etash. I enjoyed the way the author told the story through both of their points of view. It lent a richness to the novel, allowing the reader to get a full understanding of what was happening. The swapping back and forth of perspectives was done seamlessly, making for easy transitions whil...more
Wow! *Loved* this book! This story was crafted in such an amazing way. There are very few books that I just can't put down, and this was one of them. The characters are fascinating and well-developed, and the story is joyful, heart-wrenching, and completely compelling/consuming all at once. This story will touch my heart and make me think deeply about human relationships for a long time. I can't wait for the next book! Thank you, Ms. Bannister!
It all seemed a bit predictable, the 'force' attracting them to each other was over the top. I actually enjoyed the Hindu reference but feel like it would have been better if it was explored a bit more. I think this would have been a great book if it was longer with more suspense and detail. The ending was so lame, it just about ruined the whole book. The story could possibly redeem itself with an amazing sequel.
This book had so much potential. The story concept was unique and interesting, but it just kind of fell flat for me. Something about the writing was "off" for me, I can't quite put my finger on it, but it just didn't feel right. And for all the build up in the beginning of the book, the middle and end felt rushed and incomplete.
Also, I hated the ending, but that might just be my own personal reaction.
I was disappointed.
