I began reading these because of another more "paranormal" series written by Ms. Wiehl. There is one other of this series I didn't read (it precedes this one) and while these aren't bad I probably won't drop back and pick it up.

These are a series of books about 3 friends (The Triple Threat Club) who work together on "mysteries". The books always contain a certain amount of emotional angst (the first a bit less). Anyone who's followed my reviews at all will know that the angsty parts are somewhat...more

They called themselves the Triple Threat for their work in detecting and solving crimes. There was Nicole, the steady, quiet FBI agent. Cassidy, the vivacious, bouncy TV crime reporter. I read all 4 books in this series one right after another and they were all really good! The only bad thing I would say about them is Lis seems to repeat a lot of the same descriptions of things. For example the way she describes a character in book 1, it seemed like she used the exact same description in book 2 to describe the same person. I guess maybe because I read them all together I might have noticed it more, but as an author I think she could have reworded the descriptions a little bit....more

I don’t want to say too much in my review and ruin the suspense of the story, so I will keep my comments general. There are many twists and turns in this book, some of them shocking and some a bit bizarre. I wasn’t sure if I would like the book after a major bombshell is dropped, but I continued ready and enjoyed this book as much as the prior installments in this series. The book is fast-paced and thrilling, even though it is not always pleasant. The central mystery is interesting, and the information about stalkers of public figures is both enlightening and scary.

The book is a well-written thriller with intelligent female characters that support each other, even if they don’t always agree. The book also shows how tragedy can shake someone’s faith in God and how someone can overcome those doubts. The main characters are as likeable as ever. They are successful in their careers, but have each had to deal with tragedy. A quirky, but effective, private investigator named Ophelia gets involved in the friends’ case to makes sure the right person is punished for a tragic murder. Ophelia, whose personality has elements of OCD detective Adrian Monk and computer hacker Lisbeth Salander, is an interesting character and nice addition to this series.
I liked this book even though it has several sad moments, and I really enjoy this series. Fans of James Patterson’s “Women’s Murder Club” who would like a little less violence and aren’t put off by discussions of God and prayer will enjoy “Eyes of Justice”, but may want to start with the first book in this excellent “Triple Threat” series.

Just when you think you're on the right path, you find you're in a dead end and the ride takes off in a completely different direction. More than 2/3rds of the way through, I still hadn't figured it out and then I got turned around again. I LOVE THIS! I want to be completely challenged. The supporting characters are believable and seeing Nicole and Allison trying to work together to uncover clues is believable considering they aren't allowed to be part of the investigation or risk being fired.

I received this book compliments of Planned TV Arts for my honest review and couldn't put it down. I love a great Christian Murder Suspense Mystery and this one really appealed to me. I would rate this one a 5 out of 5 stars. I can't wait to read more from this incredibly talented author Lis Wiehl, who is not only a New York Times Best-Selling Author but also a Fox News Legal Analyst.(less)

OH. MY. I love Lis Wiehl's books, especially this series, and Eyes of Justice takes the suspense to a whole new level. The team is shattered when one of their own is brutally murdered. The other two are not only reeling with grief but determined to find the killer and bring him to justice. The danger and the urgency intensify when the killer seems intent on striking again. . .and one them may be next. This is the fourth book in the series by Fox News legal analyst Lis Wiehl (with author April Henry), in which three women—a crime reporter, federal prosecutor and FBI agent, solve crime by day and bond over chips and salsa and margaritas by night. Like all of its predecessors, this book is a great blend of mystery, suspense and chick lit. The friendships between the women are portrayed realistically, complete with occasional insecurities and self-doubts, but also fierce loyalty. The characters mature and progress as the story unfolds.
The murder of one of the main characters is definitely more shocking if you’ve read the previous books, because you’re more emotionally connected to all the characters. So I’d recommend reading the other books in the series first! But then read this one—you’re going to love it.
Wiehl’s books read a bit like the script for an episode of CSI, and her experience as a television reporter (and a former prosecutor) has enabled her to create authentic characters. This particular story is a bit edgier than the prior books, especially because the women are trying to solve a murder mystery that they are not specifically assigned to work on—so they have to go “undercover” and keep getting in trouble with the police for interfering.
This is another satisfying mystery, with plenty of unexpected twists and turns. Just when you think you know “whodunnit” the story unfolds in a different direction. I don’t want to give away what happens, but you’ll definitely be surprised.
Published by Thomas Nelson, the world’s largest Christian publisher, the book contains spiritual threads, but is not at all preachy, nor is it about faith. One character, Allison, is obviously a Christian but her faith is depicted mostly by the way that she selflessly tries to help her down-and-out sister (who was introduced earlier in the series), and her friends. When the point of view switches to Allison, we read not only her thoughts but her prayers. I appreciate the subtlety of the faith message in Lis’ books—she simply makes her Christian character winsome, but not perfect. It other words, authentic.

This is a well-written and fast paced thriller, and the fact that the victim is someone that readers of the series know and care about brings the whole thing closer to home in a way that an unknown victim doesn’t. The main characters are likeable but not perfect, and we get to know a little more about some of the secondary characters as well. If there is a weakness, it is that there is a lot of focus on the crime and the Triple Threat women, and not much development of their family and colleagues.

Eyes of Justice is the fourth of the Triple Threat Novels, following Face of Betrayal, Hand of Fate and Heart of Ice. It can be read as a standalone, but is probably more enjoyable if read in sequence. I thought Eyes of Justice was excellent, and I will certainly be keen to read the next in the series. Although published and marketed as Christian fiction, only one of the main characters is a Christian, and there is very little ‘preachiness’, so I think this would appeal to all thriller fans, not just those in the Christian market.

I am not even sure where to go with this review???? I love Lis Wiehl and she is one of my favorite newer authors around, but this was a let down on a couple of levels... Who kills off one of their lead charcters in a series (Unless this ends it all?)? For 3 books I have come to know and like the triple threat team of cassidy, Allison & Nicole...this is tantamount to killing of one of the hardy boys or jupiter of the three investigators. I started reading Eyes of Justice a couple of nights ago. It is great to have a mystery in my hands again. I love being able to get in there and try to figure out just who did what and better yet WHY?

This is part of a series of books by Lis Wiehl and April Henry. I am getting in here late so it is sad to know that I do not get to really know one of the main characters. You see she is the one that 'got done in' for this book. But maybe I can learn why Cassidy (the unlucky one) had to die off.

Eyes of Justice is part of a series and is the fourth book in the series. This is the first book in the series I have read. While I think a reader would benefit from reading the series in order to get more background on the characters, I don't believe it's a must. I did not feel lost when I read Eyes of Justice. Eyes of Justice is part of a series and is the fourth book in the series. This is the first book in the series I have read. While I think a reader would benefit from reading the series in order to get more background on the characters, I don't believe it's a must. I did not feel lost when I read Eyes of Justice. It read well as a stand-alone and I got to know the characters well during this one book. In fact it might be better since something bad happens to one of the characters. I did not have an attachment to her that I would have if I had read the entire series.

With the series part out of the way I can move on and talk about the plot. If you've read the Women's Murder Club books by James Patterson, these are kind of like those. The plot revolves around a group of women, in this book they knew each other in high school but not well. They then met again at their reunion and realized their jobs had them interacting. One is a reporter for a tv station, one is a federal prosecutor, one works for the FBI and the new woman is this book is a private investigator. Together they work together to solve crimes that have them stumped, each woman bringing her own strength to the table. In this book the crime is personal when it touches one of their own. Things get serious and the women must really work together to figure this crime out. The twists and turns are great. Of course when it seems like things have been figured out you know they haven't, but I honestly didn't see the ending coming. It was a great high-speed, can't put down read.

Not only was the plot great, but I enjoyed the characters. Allison, Cassidy, Nicole and Olivia all have their own unique personalities. And those personalities combine well to make the group. I never felt like I was dealing with stick/one-dimensional characters. Ms. Wiehl does a great job developing them and their surrounding families/characters even in this later book. I felt like each woman was my friend as the book went by. I also liked their cleverness in solving things but the fact that they were human and made mistakes as well. They felt very real as characters.

With a strong plot that kept me enthralled and interesting characters that kept me caring about them, Eyes of Justice was a definite winner in my eyes. As the fourth installment in the Triple Threat series, I will have to go back and read the first three because I enjoyed this book so much. It has great suspense, a small dose of romance, and a great dose of you just can't put this book down. I loved it and I'm glad I got a chance to read and review Eyes of Justice.(less)

Been following Lis Wiehl's Triple Threat series since the beginning. I was afraid that eventually it would get stale especially since Cheslea Cain's Heartsick series about serial killer is set in the northwest also. But it's a different kind of series based on the friendship that three women hold. This is not a stand alone book. You need to read the whole series in order to get this book's emotion. Eyes of Justice is the fourth novel in the Triple Threat Series by Lis Wiehl and April Henry. The series follows the lives of three women who have been best friends for the past six years. Reporter Cassidy Shaw, Federal Prosecutor Allison Pierce and FBI Special Agent Nicole Hedges are the three main characters. They call themselves The Triple Threat after their favorite dessert.

Things change almost immediately when one of the main characters, Cassie, is late showing up for dinner with Allison and Nicole after getting a tip about a police cover up of a shooting of a homeless man. Fearing the worse, Allison and Nicole arrive at Cassie’s condo to find her dead. Now, it is up to Allison and Nicole to find her killer before the killer finds them and eliminates them individually.

I was absolutely shocked that Wiehl killed off one of her main characters after three books, and did away with an important secondary character as well. I know that James Patterson did the same thing in the Women’s Murder Club when he killed off assistant D.A. Jill Bernhardt and replaced her with Yuki Castellano.

The murder of a main character is like jumping the shark because you’re really not sure how readers of your series will respond. Will they be angry? Will they realize that not all things can remain the same forever and people eventually die anyway?

Wiehl introduces readers to a new character, whom I presume is taking Cassidy’s place in the series. Ophelia Moyer is a private investigator who is rich beyond means. She takes on cases pro bono in order to help beaten and battered women find a way out of their abusive relationships.

Thanks to Ophelia, the person responsible for Cassidy’s murder as well as Allison’s sister Lindsey is discovered and a total disaster is avoided. This story truly is a mystery because you are lead to believe that a certain person was responsible for Cassie’s death, and then Allison and Nicole slowly realize that too many things don’t make sense.

This book can pretty much be read as a standalone, but it’s a lot more fun to start from the beginning of this series, and move forward. You miss out on the camaraderie that the three women have that makes this series so interesting.

This book was stunning, unexpected, unique, emotional, and adrenaline rushing. I love the fact that the characters are so alive, and you are immediately swept up into the story. There are no chapters that drag, and it is constantly on the go with suspense. My attention was pulled in with the first chapter, and I was immersed. I didn’t want to put it down and I found myself staying up until the wee hours just to get as much reading as I could in.
This is a Christian novel and I love the test of faith and words of wisdom contained within. God‘s presence is in almost every chapter, and it is really a great reminder how we are sometimes put to the test in our faith. When times get tough we can’t go running, but we need to stand our grounds, and prevail in our faith.
There are a few uncomfortable scenes in the novel that may bother some of you. One such is when Ophelia, the PI, that the women hire, braves a trip to a strip club in order to uncover information about a murder. However, this didn’t bother me in the least and actually made the story that much more realistic. Being a thriller dealing in murder it is expected to find yourself thrown into unfortunate scenes and circumstances.
I would have liked to see things turn out differently for the Triple Threat club though. This was both bad and good. In a way it was good because it was totally unexpected, and it made it impossible to guess the outcome of the novel! The Triple Threat women are forced to deal with a murder that is as close as you can get to them. This not only shakes them to the core, but makes them take a closer look at themselves, their life, and their faith. Despite the unfortunate losses in the novel there were also some great causes for celebration. In addition to discovering more about the Triple Threat women whom I’ve grown to love I am now attached the the newest character added which is Ophelia. She is just so unusual and yet so kind at the same time. She is such an enigma that I’m hoping in the next book to find out more about her.
The one thing I didn’t like about this novel is that it really leaves you hanging at the end. Some of the characters don’t pick back up, and I was SO curious to see how they would react to certain circumstances as well as to find out what happened to some of them. I can’t really go into further details about this without possibly spoiling the novel, but despite my minor dislike I would still recommend this novel to any mystery fanatic. I’m sure that Lis Wiehl, and April Henry will resume where they left off in the next novel. (Hopefully as I am left hanging)
If you like mystery thrillers then I would definitely recommend checking into this novel.

I didn't realize this was the third book in the series until I was 20 or 30 pages into it. I usually don't like to read books out of order, but I took my chance with this one. When I read the summary, I immediately thought of James Patterson's Womens Murder Club series. But I discovered quickly that that was not fair to Patterson. I’ve really, really enjoyed the other two books I read in this series, Triple Threat, and I was not let down with this one either, Eyes of Justice was an edge of your seat suspense that kept me flipping the virtual pages. I read this book in one day – I couldn’t and didn’t want to put it down – it was engaging and kept me up reading way past my bedtime and I was not disappointed, except for the loss of a character. In a way since I’ve read the other books, the characters have become like another family – through miscarriage, pregnancies, losses and crimes I felt like I have come to know the women in the novels as another set of friends (although not in the I can’t leave the fantasy behind way).

I did find this one to be a bit more graphic in the description of crime scenes and after a murder two of the characters get drunk to drown their sorrows – although one must not have been too bad as she was driving – regardless, this one did seem to be making things a bit more gruesome which didn’t appeal to me as much. Yes, I enjoyed the story, but I didn’t need complete scene descriptions as they were discovered. The other thing that kept creeping up was that the character who was murdered was depicted as going to Heaven and that the other character prayed for the Lord to take her soul. While this is a nice thought it goes against what Scripture says – so that part was bothersome to me as well.

Even with the above issues the book for me was one that I did enjoy, I liked the suspense and several times when I thought I knew who the killer was I was shocked to find that I was wrong! It was a twist turning plot line that will definitely appeal to those who want a ‘clean’ suspense, meaning no cussing and no intimate relationship stuff. If you don’t mind a few crime scene descriptions and a few drinks then this book will give you a great read.

When I picked up this book, I was expecting a story more like the last one I read. A murder, and the three ladies look to solving it. That all happened, but I wasn't prepared for one of the main characters to become a victim.
Then I kept reading, mainly because I was more interested to know how the remaining two would solve it.
Funny how two become three once more with Ophelia coming into the picture, and again the mystery was solved.

Eyes of Justice is a fast-paced mystery that will hook you right from page one. The twists and turns along with the personal storylines makes this a must-read for all mystery fans!

Lis Wiehl has written another best seller! I look forward to reading the first three novels in the Triple Threat series. The only downside is that I know the future.

Eyes of Justice, is the fourth novel in the Triple Threat Club series by Lis Wiehl. When I received this from Booksneeze I was excited, even though I hadn’t read the first three. Last year I reviewed Wiehl’s paranormal mystery called Waking Hours the first in her new East Salem trilogy. While this novel is part of a series, Wiehl has done an excellent job of allowing it to be read as a standalone. This was a suspenseful read, with lots of twists and characters I enjoyed.

The main characters are three women who all went to high school together, but were never really friends. At a reunion, they discovered they all had a lot in common. The charming Cassidy Shaw is a crime reported at Channel Four. Allison Pierce is a federal prosecutor and Nicole Hedges is an FBI agent. One thing led to another and they all began working in Portland. They got together one evening for dinner and enjoyed themselves immensely. While each has a completely different personality, they bring out the best in each other. That night they shared a rich chocolate dessert. One slice, three forks and they jokingly called themselves the Triple Threat Club. That was six years ago and they have been friends ever since.

When this novel begins, it’s Cassidy’s turn to choose the restaurant, and she picks loud and Mexican. However, she text the gals that she will be late, when a mysterious caller tells her he has proof that the cops planted a gun to cover up a shooting. Cassidy never makes it to dinner, and the tale that unfolds is suspenseful as Allison and clue driven Nicole search to understand what happened to Cassidy. When Portland PD decides they cannot be involved, they hire Ophelia, an independently wealthy private investigator to help. The tale was very suspenseful, and I didn’t figure out who was involved until almost the end.

I really enjoyed Eyes of Justice. Each character has a unique personality. Wiehl did a great job of sharing their personal lives with us as they worked to solve the case. I really liked the new character Ophelia and hope to see more of her in future novels. I became emotionally invested in these women and wanted them to succeed. This is a faith-based novel, but Wiehl doesn’t drown us in religious messages. Instead, one of the characters is religious and draws on her faith to help her through the investigation. It felt genuine and not preachy. The plot had a great pace and twists that kept me glued to the book. I consumed this in a few sittings and was thoroughly entertained.(less)
