In a future where outposts swelter beneath a nuclear sun and run-gunners patrol dusty wastelands to protect against winged creatures known as devlars, Trin is the mech at the waystation in Arens. He has a thing for the gunners: rough men with strong hands and hard bodies, who roll through his garage like the hot desert wind.

Gerrick’s the best gunner around, a quick draw wi

Trin is a mechanic who lives in an roadpost in a postapocaliptic world. There is no laws and no more cities, only desert and preybirds who prowl on men. The Gunners are men who hunt the preybirds and keep the humans safe. Gerrick is one of this gunners, a free spirit and an easy lover.

Trin falls in love of Gerrick although he has never seen him. He asks to everyone about him, gives sexual favors for stories about this man, much older than him. And one day Gerrick comes to see this boy and obvio

I didn't like this book much, it's my least favorite story from Snyder that I've read so far. I couldn't relate to any of the characters because they were all - maybe with the exception of Blaine - completely unsympathetic. Trin was pathetic, Gerrick was a jerk, Aissa was crazy and Blaine was the only one that I actually gave a damn about in this story. The whole thing left a bitter aftertaste in my mouth.
While the writing flows nicely (hey, I love J.M. Snyder writing style) but I cannot relate to any of the characters. They're not the least sympathetic (Blain is the only exception). I can't see any reason Trin and Gerrick to be together. There is no emotional attachment between them what-so-ever. It feels forced. This is one of my least favorites from Snyder.

I don't write reviews very often, but I think I have to justify my rating for this book.
There are three things I want to say first...
1. I don't regret reading this book
2. I like J.M's writing
3. I ABSOLUTELY HATED this book.

The following section contains spoilers, but I wanted the above comments to be visible.

This book is about a young man, Trin, who hero worships a gunner, Gerrick, from afar. He will go down on anyone who will tell him a story about his hero. When he finally gets to meet Gerric

Look. This is not a unicorn shooting rainbows out her ass HAE romance. It's about how toxic infatuation masquerading as love can be.

I just finish reading Trinby j.m. snyder. It is sort of like the Mad Max series. You have a waystation and gunners. Of course there is a love afair. I will not give anything away, but things do not always turn out like you think they will. I enjoyed reading the book
