I'm not even sure it deserves two stars.. Why do new authors keep writing paranormal romances where the paranormal is nowhere to be found and the romance is totally lame and unbelievable? Are they doing it for money, do they hope to be the next Meyer or what?!!

The paranormal aspect of the story absolutely doesn't make sense. We have Water Keepers. They use water to heal, they are like some secret organisation which helps ill people (something like paranormal charity), they have a special source...more

Deep Blue Disappointment.

I don't really know what to think about this book. The intensity of the plot isn't very strong, and the idea of "Water Keepers" wasn't as strange and cool as I originally thought it would be. I was not surprised at anything in this book - (view spoiler)[For example, that her father "Lin" was Hamlin. I suspected at first it was a Keeper, and I was right. (hide spoiler)].
Sadie was a shallow, stupid self-centered, bratty, dull blonde California bimbo. She flirted with Nick...more

I have to say that I thoroughly enjoyed this book. It was not about vampires or werewolves but another supernatural/fantastical beings. Christie Anderson introduces the reader to the idea of these beings called Water Keepers. Water Keepers are agents who are sent on missions to heal people when the really need it. Sadie, the heroine of this story is an almost 18 year old teenage girl who is going through her own personal ups and downs, initially it sounded like she was simply bi-polar or manic...more

Sadie is just a normal cheerful girl who wants to live her life and be with her friends, she gets along with pretty much everyone but for the last few month’s things have been different, she been different and she can’t figure out why things have gone so out of whack lately. Until she meets Rayne, instantly attracted to him, she even begins to fall for him, though she begins to wonder how she can fall for someone so mysterious, someone she hardly knows. One thing is for sure Rayne is handsome an...more

Possibly 4.5 :)

Wow. This was different. An original plot, well at least one that I've never read about. It was interesting and completely caught me off guard.

Especially the romance, at the beginning it was one of those instant attractions and I was like "Oh no, please no! Don't be another one of those books!" and when there was an almost lip-lock the second time they met I was even more worried (even though the instant attraction thingo was actually well written, because it was.... but I was in...more

I came across this book through going through my Amazon recommend for you sections. I was of course intrigued by the description since it was not vampires or werewolves. After reading it though, I have to say that as much as I wanted this book to be amazingly great it was just pretty average to me.

The concept of the water keepers was pretty inventive but unfortunately instead of going into more depth about it I was stuck in Sadie’s head and her inner monologue starts to become extremely tiresome...more

Sadie James is an outgoing senior who loves her life. She has great friends, a wonderful mom and is just happy. Her dad left her mom before she knew she was pregnant, and although she misses him, she's loves the close bond she and her mom have. She was born with a birthmark on her wrists, a teardrop shape that is black. She used to get a lot of unwanted attention with the mark but she has learned to cover it up with bracelets or a watch.

Lately, though, Sadie has been having off moments. Pictures...more

I didn't enjoy this book at all. I thought the plot was just strange and weird and to be totally honest it didn't make a heck of a lot of sense. Just to clarify, there are "Keepers" who give this healing water to people who are sick and that's it? Oookay... I must be missing something because that's kind of boring, which was what this book was to me. There were pages upon pages of boring teenage prattle and of course we had the ever increasing "instant teenage love". Rayne saves Sadie at the bea...more

Sadie is such a likeable girl... Everyone loves and adores her... But something seems off with her and she doesn't know what it is... She meets this mysterious handsome HOT guy and she immediately falls for him.. She can't stop thinking about him... He's always there for her when she's in trouble...

Rayne (the HOT guy) is so caring... He is gentle with Sadie and is always there for her... There is such an intensity between them, but they both know that they can't act on it... He has too many sec...more

Sadie lives a charmed life. She has great friends, an awesome mom, an a great place to live. However, she's been noticing a random boy. A random boy for whom she feels a very strong and mysterious attraction. After a severe car accident, Sadie soon learns the true nature of her relationship to this boy. Sadie has a heritage she had no clue about, and her life is soon to take a dramatic turn.

This was a very unique and original idea. I was a bit confused at the beginning, but it all fell into plac...more

What a fun & intriguing story! I really enjoyed it! Sadie James is the lovable girl next door I love to read about. The playfulness the author gives to Sadie really brings her to life in this novel where everything isn't as perfect as it seems. Rayne is the dreamy boy with amazing eyes that draw you in! With him comes a whole other world of suspense & danger.

I live in the area that the author places the story & the descriptions are spot on! It's so fun to read a story like that, jus...more

Sadie is a happy-go-lucky high school senior who has been experiencing weird emotional swings and can't understand what is happening to her. She meets a boy and instantly falls for him after he saves her from an accident in the ocean. The rest of the book unveils the mystery behind Sadie's mood changes and weird experiences, and begins the romance between Rayne and Sadie. It was a fun read and I was instantly ready for the next book in the series when I finished. My only hesitation in giving fiv...more

Christie Anderson's Deep Blue Secret is the story of Sadie who is living an almost perfect life. However, Sadie's world is turned upside down when a mysterious boy saves her one day. She instantly feels a connection to the stranger and he shows up again when she needs him the most. Sadie soon begins to unravel a secret involving her and why she would need constant protection.

I wasn't entirely sure what to expect from Deep Blue Secret but I really enjoyed it. Sadie is an interesting protagonist....more

There are three things which make a book interesting for me - that can't put it down/keep me interested feeling, characters who seem to come alive and create a bond, and an ending which leaves me wishing it wasn't over. Christie Anderson hits the mark on all three. Deep Blue Secret is playful, fun, youthful, and mysterious. While it teases us with other world glimpses, it remains down to earth. Sadie is a sweetheart and Rayne is the man of a young girl's dream. As the parent of a young girl, I a...more

When I first began this story, I wasn't sure what I would think about it because it seemed like such an unassuming tale during the first chapter. But just as quickly as I set this idea in my head about how the book was going to turn out, it suddenly made my pulse race and my eyes were glued to the words. I was desperate to know more about this story and this is coming from a girl who wasn't confident in the idea that I would even mildly enjoy it. Ha! This book was a wonderful read. I really did...more

*** I received this book from the author after winning it from Goodreads Giveaways.

I put off reading my other books to read this one! I really didn't know what this was going to be about when I started reading it and I thought the story developed really well. A lot of these recent YA novels are really cheesy and annoying, but this one was very different. The characters feel so real! They were very relate-able. Poor Sadie; I would have a mental breakdown if I were in her shoes! The writing was d...more

Oh god, I hate Chick Lit. I'm only 20 pages in and I'm hating it already. She's so darn "I'm blonde and gay. My life is so full of warmth and happiness nothing can stop me from singing and dancing around." She wakes up and gets kissed by her overeager blonde mom, hears her favourite song and feels so energized she started singing to it and prancing around her room. And while she prances, she says (direct quote)"I'm not like those over-exuberant girls". Come on ,man, that's a blatant lie.

Even her...more

A definite thriller you'll find yourself hooked to! Anderson has created a highly addictive novel full of hotness and surprises.

For Sadie, everything is perfect. Her life is normal and complete. Or at least that's what she thinks.
Out one day with nothing to do, she decides to snap a few pictures out on the beach. All was going quite well until she was standing next to the shore on a huge rock and fell. That's when he appeared. He appeared from nowhere and lifted her as if she were nothing. Once...more

It took me a whole week to finish this book and that is not a good thing. I work a full time job and a part time job, but if I like a book I can finish in two sittings. I struggled to finish this book. I wanted to like Sadie I really did but she was so boring and uggg, and all this insta love is starting to get on my nerves like seriously I kno there has to be a love element but when does it ever happen like that I kno this is a fantasy book but love at first sight is so played out. I didn't see...more

This book had potential but I just didn't like it that much. It seemed very original cuz it wasn't another werewolf or vampire or even a fairy book. The story pretty much dragged on in the beginning. The main character seems very naive and immature. The author makes her out to be someone who everyone wants to hang out with or someone who all the guys at school have crushes on but she seemed very dull to me. The romance is pretty cheesy too. It's not believable or intense. Her feelings grow way t...more

Pretty weird book. I was unwittingly pulled and then when if wad over I thought it was weird. Rayne is a super hot guy that basically a stalker. He follows Sadie everywhere, moves in across the street from her, reads her journal (with his own journal that's actually kind of cool) and is everywhere Sadie needs him to be rescuing her and saving her life. All this because they have some kind of weird bond because of the 'Magic Water'. There is a bad guy, Voss, but it is unclear who he is or how he...more

First of all, I have to say right up front, that this cover is so beautiful! Even if I wasn't reading this book for it's blog tour, it would have caught my eye. I am so shallow sometimes, a beautiful cover always gets me!

And then the book grabbed me! The story starts off pretty intense, with someone trying to escape from the area that he has been condemned to and left to die. He does manage to escape and the story leaves you wondering what he did and why he was there.

After that, we are taken in...more

Anderson offers a creative alternate world that will give a readers a relax from the the typical paranormal story. Admittedly, I found found this book slightly frustrating. While I loved the characters, and could see the potential growing through this book; it was obvious that the climax was not going to be reached in this particular book. Sadie is a very special and down to earth character that readers will enjoy. This mystery of her past will keep readers guessing with this easy paced story. T...more

There is many reasons to love this book but I would say mine is The fact that I wish I had a Rayne for myself. He is wonderful. Can't wait for the next book!

There were great moments in this book, but I just couldn't really get into it. To me, it seemed like the book was lacking dialogue between the characters. Heather, Sadie's best friend, seemed immature and self-absorbed. Sadie was a like-able character, but Rayne was the most well-rounded character that had a lot of depth(in my opinion). The plot was interesting, but a bit predictable. What I did enjoy was that we got a little snippets from Voss, Ash and even Rayne; that added to the story.

I loved the character development and the overall mystery behind Rayne. The story had me captivated and kept me wanting more. The book was an entertaining read and I would recommend it to anyone who wants to read something with a new theme, other than vampires and werewolves. The author has done a great job introducing you to some cool characters and I can not wait to see what adventures lie ahead for Sadie and Rayne. Go and get it NOW!!!
