Children often have trouble falling asleep. Often a parent needs to read a book to get the tykes to sleep. Books with a poetical structure to them work very well. If the illustrations are subdued, that also helps.

This book features a tyke who knows he must go to sleep. But, oh, the thoughts that race through his head! He knows he needs to sleep, but the images race. Or is he fighting off sleep by conjuring the images?

I can personally relate to the theme behind this book. What I love about this story is the multitude of directions you can go with this story. It can prompt discussions about the variety of ideas and images running through the different illustrated characters' heads, and then personally learn what your child thinks about. I liked the words, and the illustrations were pretty good. I was a little on the fence on the actual binding of the book- it's very tall and narrow, and not how I would design my idea children's book.

This is a beautiful children's bedtime story. The poems are lovely. The illustrations are amazing. Each page transports the reader to different magical place. Definitely recommend this as a bedtime story for kids!
