This was great, definitely the best so far Photobucket

Although it was kinda weird to read about Michael in a sexual way (he's so damn hot and delicious) considering my grandma taught me prayers about him when I was little lol but I'm not little anymore Photobucket and I've developed a fondness for fallen angels Photobucket I even want Lucifer to have his story and a happy ending (if my grandma heard this I think she'd get a stroke Photobucket )

The story was great, it was tight paced, always something happening, maybe it's because bot...more

**4.5 stars**

Archangel Michael, the warrior angel, has been celibate for 100 years and has not taken blood from anyone but the Source for 200 years. Now due to a prophecy, he must not only wed but bed and drink blood from a woman who is the Roman goddess of war reincarnated to help save his brethren and defeat Uriel.

Finally a book that doesn't have the outright meanness that the other books have had. While Michael is not exactly excited about being with Tory outwardly, inwardly he wants her ver...more

While this is by far the best in this series so far, I don't feel like I can go much higher than this just because as good as it was, I was still able to put it down without much difficulty. I did read it in 2 sittings, it's just that I didn't feel that need to MUST READ RIGHT NOW.

All of that said, this is the Lover Awakened of this series. And from me, that is about as high of a compliment a book can get. Because Lover Awakened is my all time favorite PNR book. With no equal. This...more

Loved it, loved it, loved it!! This is one of the most inventive series I’ve read lately, and this 3rd book has taken it to a new level. Really interesting world, really interesting series. Stuart has not only mastered the really bad boy, she’s doing some damn good PNR wordbuilding, too. Where the first book of the series Raziel, was a little shaky in premise; the 2nd one, Demon showed the promise of what these stories could be. This one just blasted off and was a hugely entertaining read. In th...more

This is probably my favorite of the series so far. I will admit to being predisposed to liking anything Anne Stuart writes, and reading her paranormal series has definitely been interesting.

My main problem with this book (and the previous one) was the alternating first person/third person POV. It just seemed odd, and as it's not something I'm used to, I suppose it detracted from my reading experience. I'd really prefer to just have everything in third person, and found myself rereading (translat...more

I thought the book was going to focus on vampirism which I wasn’t looking forward to. I was pleasantly surprised when that aspect seemed secondary. I have to applaud the author for an original concept I would have never thought of the Archangel Michael in this light; but bravo it was well done. Michael was slightly cold but he made up for it with his strength and powerful presence. Victoria sold this book for me I loved her movie and pop culture references and she kept her sense of humor through...more

What an improvement compared to the last two!
Michael was a much more tolerable hero in this book. Sure he was a bit of a jerk and a little dull, but a lot more nicer compared to Azazel or Raziel.
Victoria was a likeable heroine. I did find her whole "locked up in a castle my whole life whilst being trained as some sort of bad ass warrior" back story a little stupid, though. I kinda skipped through most of it because I thought it was ridiculous and unnecessary. Their banter was fun. I liked how t...more

The Fallen series is an interesting take on the theme of Fallen Angels, in this world the Fallen are the good guys trying to save themselves and humans from the Archangel Uriel and his Angels who a missing in action Creator has left in charge. Warrior the third instalment is the story of the archangel Michael and Victoria Bellona the human personification of the Roman Goddess of War.

I really like the mythology of this series and the pop culture humour in places( the interpretation of Hell as a 1...more

(June) Really more of a 3.5* book for me. I read several reviews that say this is the best of the three so far - for me, it was the least captivating. I'm not sure what was off exactly, but I just didn't feel like I got to know Tori and Michael very well. From what I read I liked them both - but I didn't feel the love between them, I guess. While I am used to Anne Stuart's abrupt endings, I felt this one was too abrupt for this book - fallout (or astonishment) about who the traitor was, or the n...more

I recently read the first two books in Kristina Douglas’ The Fallen series in order to review the latest installment, Warrior. I would agree with the author, that this series is best read from the beginning because the stories build on one another.

Warrior begins with a prophecy in which Michael (you guessed it, the warrior himself) must find and marry a woman hand picked for this and stored away like Rapunzel, destined to be his mate. A mate he absolutely N...more

Rating: 4 out of 5.

If you love paranormal romance with a mix of gamma heroes, then Kristina Douglas has the perfect series for you.

Michael is a fallen angel who has been celibate since his mate died years ago. Victoria (aka Tory) is the Roman goddess of war reincarnated. So basically there is this place that breeds goddess of war and on their 25th birthday, they are killed, if they aren't of use until then. Then the next goddess is bred.

Why are they killed at 25, you ask? Because goddesses have...more

The series at its best

It looks like Kristina Douglas has finally hit her stride in The Fallen series. Warrior is the best yet. What a difference adding more plot and featuring a better romance dynamic can make.

Raziel and Azazel have settled and found happiness with their human mates, but now it's Michael's turn. He's the fiercest warrior of The Fallen, shying away from love as much as he possibly can, even to the point of only drinking blood from The Source to avoid a deeper connection to his p...more

I like Michael--the Archangel himself has been a big favorite of mine for ages--and in the series he was the one I leaned toward from the start. I was so excited for his book to be released, then procrastinated but finally got to it...and I wasn't disappointed. Not really. The story was promising and I enjoyed it overall, but I wasn't a fan of Tory. I found her to be disjointed in personality toward the second half of the book (the Darkness notwithstanding), a little forced (especially with the...more

The best book in the series by far. This angel might fight the attraction just as much as his brothers, but he acts out of honor and principle, not his own personal issues. Who would have thought the simple statement "I am immune to euphoria" could be so sweet;-)

As each book builds on the others, the world building has become increasingly interesting as well. And for once, I can actually believe this couple belong together: they have great chemistry and the pop culture references are funny. Lov...more

Slowly, I became, a fan of Douglas' winged warriors. I was rooting for Michael and Victoria the entire book. I am not happy, however, with the constant usage of "Victoria Bellona". I get it. It's a pretty cool name. I like my name as well. I would also bring bodily harm to anyone who said my full name multiples times a day. I wonder if her editor is doing a word count?

Another pet peeve are the pet names. "Your holiness" is understandable in the beginning. "Your saintliness" is a small jab. " An...more

I enjoyed this installment in the Fallen series, but certain things are becoming a bit repetitive. The fact that each fallen angel is so resistant to finding a mate is becoming a bit annoying. Can't one of them be happy to find her? This resistance often exhibits itself as cruelty and that bothers me.

This book does have a bit of an interesting twist... Michael's mate is Victoria Bellona, a goddess. I was a bit surprised to find that a goddess would be accepted by the angels. I was also surprised...more

Warrior begins with a prophecy stating that Michael must mate with the reincarnation of the Roman goddess of War, Victoria Bellona, if they are to prevail in the upcoming battle with Uriel and his armies of angels. Having been secluded and basically held prisoner her whole life, Victoria jumps at the chance to leave and finally experience life when Michael comes for her.

Neither Michael or Victoria wants this marriage--Michael is a warrior...more

So I just finished reading this book and let me tell you, it was amazing. Keeping to the story of the fallen, this book follows Michael, the archangel, and his fight for his freedom and the life he thought he wanted. He tried fighting his destiny but in the end, everything came to be. I love the fact that the hero and heroine are both strong. Tory, the reincarnation of the goddess of war, was the perfect pair to Michael, she was strong and skilled but vulnerable. All in all, loved it. Worth read...more

Wow, this blew me away! It's a fun, witty, edgy and totally engrossing read. So far the best in the series, loved it!

I am being generous technically 4.5 because of the repetition but I cant help it! Archangel Micheal deserves a 5 for his almost all quoteable lines : )

Micheal the warrior has to marry the Goddess of war Victoria Bellonia...haha love the name!
He holds out too long for my liking but I cant help but love him in this book. It also had some real fantasy like candyland, gingerbread house, Alice in wonderland kind of stuff that I tend to really love. Is it perfect...no but sometimes I can love somethin...more

Oh how the Mighty have fallen! 4.5stars actually!

Archangel/Warrior extraordinaire Michael has been destined to take another mate - and he really, really doesn't want to. Tory Bellona has led a very odd and sheltered life in that her mother and her mother's lover plan to kill her by her 25th birthday and she’s been raised on a spit of land. To escape the fate planned for her and see the world Tory agrees to mate Michael while she plots her escape from him since his idea of their mating matches he...more

I probably would have rated this higher if I hadn't been so strung out from sleep deprivation and just feeling so tired and worn out this past weekend. I feel bad about that, because that's the reason why I hoard my favorite authors' books for when I am in a good/receptive mood. Even with my beloved books, I can set the bar high and being moody can interfere with my reading experience. I guess it seems silly to qualify a four star rating. But Anne Stuart/Kristina Douglas is probably one of the a...more

I completely enjoyed the first two books in this series by Kristina Douglas (aka Anne Stuart), but had some quibbles with them. I have no issues with this installment of the series. It gives less of the background of the paranormal world and is more of a paranormal romance than urban fantasy. That's fine with me. The Fallen Angels of biblical times are living in Sheol, a beachfront community off the coast of America - though I think there was an editing problem because previously it was off the...more

There comes a time in every Angels life....

Every little girl imagines, now and then, that she's a princess held captive in a tower. But Victoria Bellona is almost twenty-five. And that whole fairy-tale scenario? That's her real life. The drop-dead gorgeous man who rescues her is no Prince Charming. He's the gruff archangel Michael, and he insists that Tory is the Fallen's only hope for ending Uriel's vicious rule. She insists he's crazy.

To show his brethren what he's made of....

The series just gets better aNd better..and let me just say that book 3 has been my favorite so far.ü I've enjoyed the tug-of-war game happening between Michael and Tory.ü I love the fact that in the small army/community of Sheol everyone wanted to fight and protect their home and what they have considered their family.

I loved the story from beginning to end. Michael captivated me, Tory amused me and finally Allie & her little miracle had made me tear up.ü Changes are already happening in Sh...more

This on was by far the best in the series so far.

Michael is dark and cold for most of the book & Tory learned all her social pop culture remarks from watching movies in her secluded life. She has no idea how to cook because she never has, but learned everything she knows about cooking gormet from Julia Chiles who happens to be the Messiest cook ever! Why she was used instead of Rachael Ray or others is beyond me, but whatever.

Tory was my favorite female character in the series & I also l...more

This series started kind of slowly. The first book was really just okay, but all the books after that have been really good.

I really enjoyed Michael and Victoria's story. I feel that the author could do a little more character development and by that I don't mean more introspection since we get a lot of that, but actually have the characters talk about their past so that we get to know them. A lot of things are just inferred which is something that really annoys me in books.
