I am an evil, evil person. As I read this book, I had the urge to tear out the pages and put the illustrations up on some kid’s wall as wonderful decorations and then discard the story portion. I wouldn’t do it as I abhor the destruction of books (oh, and this copy belongs to the library) but the thought did cross my mind.

A rhyming story about planting some seeds. Come and dance the whole green world! I've got a little pair of shoes. (Comfy, cozy little shoes.) Got a little pair of shoes to walk the whole round world. After putting on her red shoes, a girl and her shaggy dog set out to plant the whole world. During the course of their imaginary journey they have many helpers - birds, insects, and sun among them - and then return home to wait for the magic of spring. A catchy and rhythmic poem and collages infused ...more

This is a great book for talking to kids about Earth Day and the Earth in general. It helps spark up a lot of activities you could do with students and explains to the students how important it is to help keep the Earth green and healthy. I chose this book because it shows great examples of how to take care of the Earth.

This was a nice book that takes a child step by step through the things closest to her out to the world. It has a lilting rhyme to it too. If you are a nature-lover, you don't want to miss this.
