Lily is a PR expert that Gage hired to improve his image. She worked hard to get where she is today. Since her mother was completely dependant on the man she dated, Lily stayed far away from men and she was never really tempted. And then she meets Gage.
Gage is a self-made millionaire who raised his sister after their parents forgot about her (!!!). He usually dates models, heiress, women who are in the spotlight, here's what Lily says about them:

Both having trust issues, making a sacrifice for someone you love, etc etc....that was okay for me. But there did not seem to be a really deep and emotional connection between Gage & Lily.
Enjoyable but not one of my top of my list by one of my favorite authors.
Overall a very good read
And to generate some positive PR for his company, Gage proposes to Lily! This may be a deal on Paper only, but Gage wants a traditionally white dressed bride.
And later L ...more
I don't know how to view this book. It doesn't seem right to criticize it for it's horrible writing or non existing plot or obvious one dimensional characters. It's a harlequin. Isn't it supposed to be book porn? The equivalent of a soft core porn film with a plot?
The problem is, that it's not even good at that. It's inefficient even as spank material. I mean ok, the nipple and touching descriptions sometimes were quite horny, but when the big climactic sex scen ...more
Lily is very resistant to love - and men, having seen her mother throw her life away upon boyfriend after boyfriend. Gage has already "done" the family thing, having acted as a guardian to his baby sister since he was twenty-five years old, so why would he want a wife or family?
The erotic t ...more
This was really far-fetched and silly. It's those old Mills & Boon books that deviate from reality hence shouldn't be surprised. But I could even forgive that if it weren't so predicable and tedious.
Confirmed bachelor Billionaire tall, dark and handsome, model-starlet-dating "ruthless" and unethical businessman gets into a pickle and fakes marriage. But falls in love with fake bride. Struggles to come to terms with EMOTIONS because LOVE and settling ...more
There were just too many issues that bothered me in the book (big things and small things too; for example, he is a client, he is not the boss. Where are the other clients, her employees, and how does she spend all of her time with just him?). First of all, I felt like there was too much internalizing; we spent way too much time inside their heads, and it got very repetitive too, so it's not like we ...more
Lily Ford is a PR agent who has her own company; she has put everything on hold to get her agency where it is now. Then Gage Forrester walks into her office and wants her to handle his PR. The only catch is that she has to be available 24/7. Then something happens in the Forrester family that explodes in the media and Lily has to find a way to ...more
This book had a lot of elements that don't usually work for me, but I somehow enjoyed it anyway. I think Lily's reaction to her upbringing seemed extreme. There's a difference between depending on men for everything, and dating. I actually liked her and Gage together, but maybe just because I couldn't figure out how either of them would ever make it work with anybody else.
It drove me nuts that Gage was referred to as Lily's boss. What was brought up in the beginning and then rarely aga ...more
I liked the confident no-holds barred business woman Lily. I was intrigued by the Gage who raised his little sister. The sex scenes were hot and one of the better parts of the story. I really liked the openness between Lily and Gage. I felt like Lily and Gage were on equal footing both in their jobs and in their relationship.
The first thing that bugged me was the fake en ...more
The story didn't have any special to offer.
The title pof the book doesn't do justice with the story. coz there is no mention of marriage in the story.
Yes there was a fake engagement but no fake marriage.
Heroine and hero were good.but nothing intriguing about their character.
Thats y 3 stars.
Gage resists the sexy little public relations employee. He resists the perky figure and confident attitude. He resists the quiet, thoughtful woman he finds her to be. He resists until he finds he wants her more than he is w ...more
Sometimes you find a book which not only hits all the right notes, but reminds you why you love to read. And what you hope to write one day!
The story was completely absorbing. This was pure romance IMO. The main characters were in pretty much every scene together, which is my favorite kind of romance.
Both character's backgrounds were interesting. I read a couple of comments saying the reactions of these characters to their upbringing was ...more
