This graphic novel talk about a character called Matty. He is the team captain of a local soccer club named the Strikers. Although his team is very talented, he still feels that there is something missing. He has tried to improve a lot of things in his team to become better, so he switches things up a little bit. Later in the story he decides that he will play with some street ball kids. He learns new skills from these street boys and soon is able to share with his league team.

While I really liked the size, shape, and feel of the book (it is a nice little hardback with printed endpapers and dark pagers with striking colors), the story really left a lot to be desired. Any book that requires (note requires, not benefits from) explaining who the characters before the story starts are because the story doesn't permit description and then character growth is generally not going to be the best. Pros: The art is fun and the soccer facts are solid. Likable characters.

Cons: Overly didactic and the comprehension question in the back compelled me to take off a star.
