Ember. *me no me gusta face* So, we have Max Valentine a screwed up dork teenager with some secret powers, I believe? And his life which "revolves around music and his love for it". So original. Fantastic. BRAVO. And one day he saves Asia Lyn Michaels' life. Asia is a spoiled cunt brat. And apparently she discovers Max's secret. Right. BORED. From that moment on they are connected, no matter how much they fight

The story was catchy--here are my problems with it: elementary grammar and punctuation errors, lots of them, distracting amounts of them! Lethargic narration, lots of places they could have tightened up dialogue, plot, etc. First person narration by a character that can somehow narrate events with great detail that he was not there to witness himself. Abundant sexuality among high schoolers. Now while this may represent reality, I wouldn't recommend this to a teenager when the main character spe ...more

Max is a Californian who was sent to Hawaii to live with his last living relative in a kind of means to start over. What he didn't expect was to have his heart pulled in two different directions and have to keep an eye on his famous temper. One that got him the nickname, Mad Max.

I really liked the premise of this book, and moreso the fact that it was written in a male POV. But that is about it, unfortunately. There was way too much repetition in this book. If I read about anymore lightening or thunder, I thought I might lose it. I understood why it was there, but wow! It was just overdone. It would make for a great drinking game, however ~ take a shot every time thunder is written. You'd be drunk by page 10.

I also didn't care for the fact that Max was so undecided abou

Man oh man!!! M.D. sure knows how to deliver the goods!!!

Madison Daniel could write the blurbs on the back of cereal boxes and I would rush to read them!! His writing appeals to me that much!!! I loved everything about this book.

So here's just a small snippet of it's awesomeness.....

THE COVER: Simply gorgeous!! As soon as I saw it I was just, WOW!!!

Eighteen year-old Max Valentine has a blazing personality, and that's not figuratively speaking. The main character in Madison Daniel's novel, Ember, can literally ignite himself on fire when his rage takes over, which unfortunately is quite often. Max can only hope that moving to paradise might calm his burning temper. Max takes up his uncle's offer to move to Hawaii to start fresh after his father passes. Upon arrival on the small island, Max is captivated by an exotic beauty named Asia and wh ...more

Hi y'all Anne here and I've just finished reading Ember by Madison Daniel and yes it's 4:56 am and I am writing my review because a book like this can not wait. Ember is an amazing book, I'm going to start right at page 1 where you meet Max and his suffering and turmoil is already painted right there for you in a heart wrenching scene that will leave you with a multitude of questions left wanting answers. The back drop for Ember is Hawaii and the author describes his locations and scenes in such ...more

I'm feeling the heat.....and I LOVE it!!

Max Valentine is not your ordinary, everyday Romeo. He has a history that haunts him day and night and he has abilities that can be both a blessing and a curse. Add a bit of a temper to that and things tend to heat up pretty quickly in this book ;) After the death of his father, Max needs a fresh start. He moves to Hawaii to live with his Uncle.

Asia is a mysterious local girl who Max feels instantly drawn to as soon as he sets eyes on her. She is beautiful

A most intriguing book, the story of Max Valentine, a supernatural fire-wielding healer who has arrived in Maui Hawaii to start his life anew after tragedy has torn his family apart. After his father dies, he now is sent to live with his uncle Frank in the beautiful island of Maui. What an awesome backdrop for this mystical and fiery read. The author Madison Daniel describes it with amazing detail and vibrance.
The characters were enticing! Madison writes his characters with all senses in mind.

It took me forever to read Ember. I had quickly read around 200 pages when my E-reader charger decided to die on me, so, it wasn't a borefest or anything. It was just down to technology. When my charger finally came back in stock (Useless). I left it on ch

I was really excited to start reading Ember, not only because of the great buzz, but because it's setting is in the place where I grew up... Maui, Hawaii. It was awesome to actually know, and have been to the locations mentioned. And, my hubby is a graduate of Maui High School! Lol :)
First off...I loved how it has a male MC. I haven't read too many novels where the lead is a male character, but it was a very nice change. This is a story about a boy, who has a deadly secret. One he's been runnin

Recommends it for: People who hate commas and to those who doesn't want a substantial plot.
Am I the only one who didn't love this book? The cover is great, though.

First things first. The commas. As I've said before, I found the lack of commas disturbing. Every time I read something which needed a comma but there's none, I wanted to freaking bang my head in the wall. Idk if it's just from my ebook or not. Most likely it's the former because would they publish a book with a lack of commas? I don't think so. Still, my it irritated me.

Max. Ah, Max. He's really a two-timing guy with specia

Oh my! The only thing that would make this book better is if Madison Daniel sold the book along with the soundtrack! This way you could listen to the music while reading!

Everything in this book will keep you wondering what's going to happen next. Before you know it, it's over, leaving you yearning for the next book.

As with all my other reviews, I don't like to go into much detail as I'm never sure who has read the book already and who hasn't. I will tell you that you will get mad, sad, almost cr

The main character of the story is Max, who has a HOT temper, literally! He falls for 2 girls at once. Can you love more than one person with all your heart and soul? This is something Max must ask himself numerous times, after having his heart broken more than once. Each girl does their damage, in more ways than one. There’s something different about Max, quite interesting in fact. And he manages to find his balance from each girl, in different ways. Asia is who he falls for first, and she is h ...more

Ember Ember by Madison Daniel

My rating: 2 of 5 stars

I was suckered in by the reviews and started reading this and the only thing I got out of it was that Max was incapable of coherent thought in most instances. The situations were stupid (unless you like reading about kids in high school) and the reactions of the characters were laughable if not so poorly written, i.e. who wakes up from a near fatal accident , watches somebody miraculously heal them and walks away without a word. This book was a tota

How HOT was this book? Burning hot! I have been following Madison Daniel on his Facebook page for several months. He's an extremely active author who connects with his fans and seems super down to earth. His passion for music and the written word really got to me. I am so in love with the setting, the characters, the plot...it just all fits so well together. I read this book in less than 24 hours. I lost A LOT of sleep staying up late to read "one more chapter". Def a page turner.

I liked it, I didn't like it. I loved Max, I hated Max. Ugh, this book had me going back and forth about on my feelings for the characters of this book. Everything I liked about this book I disliked too. The girls were strong and kick ass one minute and the next they were sniveling begging babies. Max made horrible choices and really just pissed me off over and over again to the point where I would groan and have to put the book down.

What I liked:
I loved all of the music involved in Ember. Max
