M/F paranormal erotic romance

Seeing dead people is all very well...unless one of them wants to kill you.

To Mallory Sharpe, vampires are a fact of life. They exist, walk the streets and for the most part mind their own business. As a second-year university student, she doesn't pay the undead much attention until she meets Jonathan Cutler. He has needs, and blood is only one

Whew... this started off with a bang (ha pun totally intended) and the characters really jump out at you. And boy was this sexy. Literally from the beginning it's like sex oozes from page to page!

But then the story kicks in and I started not appreciating the characters. You know when you're watching a movie and the victim does something really stupid and you know they're going to be in trouble but all you can do is sit and watch, and well let's be honest, yell at that television or movie screen
The plot - Mallory has a one-night stand with vampire Jonathan. He has only one rule, to never spend more than one night with a woman. Unfortunately, Cian has a tendency of tracking down Jonathon’s conquests and Mallory is the next one on the list. He stalks her, he wants her to be his grail. However, that’s not something she wants to be. Mallory is a scared but does a fairly good job holding her own against Cian – with Jonathan’s help. Because of course, he can’t stay away and that’s what attra ...more
A Little Death by Scarlett Parrish is an interesting story that will have you on the edge of your seat wondering what will happen next. The main characters of the story are Mallory, Jonathan, and Cian. However, I really enjoyed the banter between Mallory and her friend Duncan. The two of them had me laughing out loud.
Jonathan is a vampire and has become smitten with Mallory. He starts a yearning in Mallory that only he can quench. Cian is also a vampire that makes Jonathan’s life miserable by ho

I have loved Scarlett Parrish's previous books, but I had trouble with this one.

I like the set up. Vampires are out to the public and not a super big deal. They are on the rare side - but Mallory has a little knack for spotting them. She meets vampire Jonathan at a bar - and decides she is attracted enough (and just a bit scared) to take him home. Jonathan is all for it, but tells her it can only be a one night stand - that is all he does. Agreeing, Mallory takes him home. Hello sexy time. I ac

I read this last night--loved the excerpt on the Loose site and was looking forward to indulging myself once I'd finished evil housework.

The good: some evocative turns of phrase here. The prose has almost an aloof edge to it, which separated it from a lot of the urban fantasy/paranormal stuff I've read of late. The dialogue was witty, especially when Duncan was around (in fact I wanted so much more of Duncan!). That first chapter is such a hook.

The bad: Two things to this, real

Firstly, disclaimer. Myself and Scarlett have swapped naughty emails. We 'know' each other, though we've never met.

Now, I though that I should read one of her books, seeing as I know her and we're both writers etc etc.

So, in the interests of being unbiased I picked this one, cos I ain't a vamp kinda girl. More likely to get an honest reaction etc etc

With that out of the way...

There are a lot of things to like about this book, and a couple of things that are almost certainly personal preference
