LADY GAGA
In this book of original, behind-the-scenes photographs, acclaimed photographer Terry Richardson follows superstar Lady Gaga during one year of her life, from Lollapalooza through the final show of her Monster Ball tour. During the time period he followed Gaga, Richardson took over 100,000 images and attended more than 30 Monster Ball dates around the world. From the 2010...more

Terry Richardson spent the best part of a year with Lady Gaga on her Monster Ball Tour and captured everything in that time; the concerts, Lady Gaga working on her Born This Way album, various music award shows and her gay rights speech in Washington.
I'll go ahead and warn you all now; LADY GAGA X is a photography book, so photos are what you get. So looking at the book with that in mind I'm pleased. There are over 450 black/white and full colour photographs, in a good mixture of posed and candi...more

I loved this book. The quality of the photos was fantastic and the book's design is neat and polished. However, I do wish that this had spanned over a longer time period than just 2010. It also would have been nice to have some captions saying where the photos were taken and who the people in them were.
Also, Terry Richardson, the photographer, appeared in far too many of the photos. Some of them didn't even have Lady Gaga in them at all—it would either be him standing by himself or with someone...more

As much as I love Lady Gaga I have to say that I was a little disappointed with the lack of text. There were 100+ pictures with only a little introduction by Gaga in the beginning. It would have been nicer if there were explanations to some of the pictures or even just titles to accompany each picture.
I'd give it a 3.5 star rating for the extremely beautiful and amazing HQ pictures. It would have been a 4 if there were more text. (even in the form of an occasional title to explain where or when...more

I know this isn't a book so much as a collection of photos, and therefore not really worthy of literary review, but I needed someplace to express my excitement for it. I got it for Christmas and have already flipped through it twice. Every time I think that I can't possibly love this woman more, I see or hear something that just takes me to the next level of admiration. In this case, the catalyst was a bunch of pictures of her eating spaghetti in full makeup with no pants on. Why the love? I kno...more
Best read in one go and in perfect silence, this wordless coffee table tome is a tribute to Gaga's pure ego, to she of pure self-love that goes deep but gives more than it takes. Every page is compelling modern art, showy and bombastic but raw and personal, a visual diary of her glorious Monster Ball and an important document of today's pop. She poses in bathtubs, waiting rooms, changing rooms, coffins, private jets; writhing in a doona, eating spaghetti, brushing her teeth. One of the most clev...more
This book is gorgeous for three reasons.
1. It's Lady Gaga.
2. Terry Richardson photographed all of it, and he's a genius with a camera.
3. We're able to see Gaga in her natural setting. We're able to see her at her most intimate and her most vulnerable. In a way it's unsettling - this global superstar of a woman (who has an amount fame that isn't comprehendible) cries. She does yoga in underwear you can just barely see through. She dyes her hair. She takes baths!
Now, we all knew she did these t...more

While there isn't much to read in this book you get a visual understanding of the touring life of Lady Gags. I recieved this book as a Christmas gift from my mom and am so glad she found it. It was amazing to see Gags in concert and to get my own pictures however I wish I had the chance like Richardson to get up close and find out through my lenses who the real Gags is. Terry has done an amazing job capturing this life we rarely get to see. I was intrigued by the up close photos of her outfits,...more
One year in the making this book is 450ish photos of Lady Gaga being Lady Gaga. From outlandish outfits to stage performances to behind the scenes makeup sessions to near nudity and the mundane, this "reads" like any tabloid magazine only shot mostly on film instead of digital.
Oh, here she is putting lipstick on!
Oh, here she is walking up stairs to the stage!
Look, in this one her nipples are exposed!
Oh check this one out, it's her ass in fishnets!
Boring.

This is a wonderful coffee table book for any Gaga fan. I purchased this book for $10 when I found it on the bargain shelf at Barnes and Noble. The photos are crisp and clear. Gaga is obviously a beautiful woman and her personality is well represented in a majority of the photographs. Terry Richardson is a renowned photographer and did an excellent job at capturing her during live performances and intimate moments. This is a almost perfect book. Although it feels that after a year of Richardson...more
Being a Little Monster, I HAD to get my hands on this book! Although it isn't really a book, just a collection of photos, I knew that it would be worth the money. We see Gaga in her most vulnerable moments, and I appreciated the rawness of it. We got to see Gaga crying, brushing her teeth, eating pasta, etc. Although those types of things aren't really important, it just humanizes her even more. I love this book! As others have said, I wish there were more captions to explain what is happening i...more
This book was originally fifty dollars at Chapters/Coles/Indigo, but I snagged it for fifteen bucks. Wicked!
Filled with four hundred and fifty pictures, this book is sexy, personal, and very beautiful! Terry Richardson captured both natural and posed photos of one of my idols, the Lady Gaga. <3
I wasn't going to get this book for whatever reason, but I told myself how much I love her and it would be such a cool thing to have, so I bought it.

Beautiful and intimate, but wordless, insight into Gaga's world. At times I felt myself wanting for captions or reflections, but then I thought - perhaps the intention is to project our own thoughts and experiences onto the pictures of her raw emotions. Very excited to receive this for Christmas, and spent a few hours pouring over every photograph. My biggest (only) problem is that I dislike supporting Terry Richardson, given his less than stellar reputation with women.
Although this is a beautiful book, there are a few things that stop it being as fabulous as it could have been. There is no text - no dates, no comments, nothing! Just the occasional note from Gaga would have made it a much more worthwhile buy. Also, there is the problematic notion of supporting Terry Richardson, a photographer with a reputation that's not exactly sterling. If you want a big, beautiful book that's also informative I would suggest Gaga- it doesn't have the hipster cache of this o...more
This book was a great insight into the life of Lady Gaga. Terry Richardson, being a close friend of Gaga's, shows the world a new side of the superstar. Lady Gaga's controversial life is disected in this book, and you begin to realize she is more like us than you thought. Gaga starts the book with incredibly sincere statements about her dear friend Terry. She explains how she is nothing without her support group. Terry also shows this later in the book. Because such a wide range of emotion is po...more
