Every time I tried to put down the book, I found myself saying "one more chapter." You've barely started reading, and the author engages you in Bailey's world, especially her emotions. I love how she drew on the other books in Frank Baum's Land of Oz series to build out this story. U doubt few kids knew there was anything other than The Wizard of Oz.

My 4th grade daughter loved this story so much she bought the T-shirt. She told her grandmother (my mom) the tale at breakfast one morning, and my mom borrowed the book to read, herself.
