I love the ending chapter. The squirrels with the nutty snow and Daisy creating a rainbow. This is a great book series for young elementary students. I could see it as a great read-aloud for 1st grade -especially if the teacher/parent/librarian can do animal voices well.

Daisy Dawson is a modern day, much younger Dr. Doolittle. She can talk with and to animals and has everyday adventures around with them. It's a "quiet", sweet series that exemplifies the goodness of childhood. The illustrations are just right, too.
Steve Voake is the author of all the Daisy Dawson books, as well as two novels for older readers. He lives in Somerset, England.More about Steve Voake...
