My thoughts:
Two of the most unlikely heroes, but well-loved characters hold the future of the world in their hands. If they fail the world as they know it will end. If they succeeded they will live to fight yet another day.
Taron is a scholar who has never thought he was missing anything in life. That was until he learned that he was really not living and his life was turned upside down. Taron has been sent out on a mission to help with a battle against evil. The last thing he expects to find i...more

The climax of the "Demonslayers" novels by Kate Douglas is at hand. The Demon King finds his way from the Abyss in an attempt to lure Dax within his grasp once again. He feels that the power of inhabiting and ruling from Dax's old demon body lies in conquering his immortal human body. And so when an effort to inhabit a Dog that Dax's immortal lover, Eddy, owns backfires and locks him instead into Eddy's father and spewing a life-size "Willow" (a will-o-the-wisp)into the world of man as a full si...more

Quick & Dirty: An exciting ending to the series.
Opening Sentence: The steady slap, slap, slap of Taron’s sandals echoed off the rough stone walls.
The Review:
So, this story starts where the last left off. The good news; the battle in Lemuria has just ended, the rightful king returned to power, the demons driven back to their spawning place, everybody alive and well. The bad news; there is still a whole mess of demons in Sedona, patiently waiting for their k...more

CrystalFire is the forth full length novel in the author’s Demon Slayers Futuristic series about men from an alternate world who hunt demons. These demons have invaded earth and they use their special swords to kill and protect. While it is not necessary to have read the prior book, many previous characters reappear particularly Eddy, the heroine from the first book DemonFire.

Crystalfire by Kate Douglas
* I received this ARC/book free from the author in exchange for an honest review*
Taron of Lemuria is frustrated with his crystal sword because it still hasn’t spoken to him. He feels like he must not be a true warrior but there is more to it than that. He doesn’t have any confidence in himself or his abilities; he is a scholar not a warrior. When his sword decides to speak, it’s to warn him that he is needed in Evergreen for the final battle. He never expected that he...more

** Was lucky enough to win an ARC of this. Wow!!! **
This is a story of swamp gas, puppies and magic. Of heroes, the mysteries of Mount Shasta and the People of Lemuria.
Heroes emerge from the unlikeliest of places and lovers finally get a chance on the eve of destruction.
You wanted answers? Well you got them. Put on your seat belt for a high speed ride...Kate Douglas style!
LOVED this story and the many twists and turns!

Crystalfire is the final book in Kate Douglas' Demonslayers series. I enjoyed all the other books in this series and looked forward to the release of this one. Ms Douglas did not disappoint! Taron who is a scholar is our "tortured" hero. Fate has chosen him to be our warrior and to save mankind. His "side kick" is Willow and she is chock full of surprises in this book. All the characters from previous books make an appearance, however this book still can be read as a stand alone. The book is act...more

Look for review on Romancing the Book
I liked Willow and Taron. I remembered their connection when they first met in Demonfire. I didn’t think anything would come of it, since she was only 2 inches tall. Though this book was probably my least favorite book of the series, I still enjoyed reading it. It was nice to see everyone for a final time. This series was such an unexpected treat from Kate Douglas. I’m sad to see it end.

Some people just seem to know they are meant to write, but it can still take a while to figure out exactly what their career will entail. Kate Douglas started out writing radio copy for a country western radio station in 1972, wrote and illustrated an educational cartoon strip for the American Mosquito Control Association for a number of years, was a newspaper reporter for a small town weekly wher...more
