My 9 year old daughter has read this book three times in the past year, which is a recommendation in itself.
This is a historical/mythic fantasy loosely based on Greek myth and legend. It's a swashbuckling, page-turning, ripping good yarn, and kept me up most of the night. It's a bit violent, but it's "fantasy" violence, and there is a strong message of peace, acceptance, and choosing battles wisely in it.

Hippolyta is faced with ending a cruse on the amazons with only her brother for help. But it turns out the gods are more involved than she thought.
I though this was a charming tale oa amazons, gods and fate. Very entertaining.

Percy Jackson books made me renew my interest in greek mythology books and I found a few by Jane Yolan. Well rewritten, short stories. Wish there were more...or something similar.

This book was a great one for ancient Greek mythology lovers. It was a fresh take on the Amazon legends and finally had a girl as the main character!
