Unless you are a family of four or larger there really isn't much in this book that is for you (in fact even if you are in a family of four I doubt the saving you could make with this book).

A lot of the tips are incredibly generic and obvious and I would think that most people who are looking to save money are familiar with most of them already. The book opens with a few interesting chapters that might get you somewhere but then it slips into a 12 month plan which is to be honest just a ploy to

While much of the advice herein assumes having certain lifestyle and level of wealth, there is still certainly plenty that will be of help to anyone, and on an impressively wide range of topics for a small book. It recognises that saving money is not simply down to standalone tips, offering interworking advice across pretty much all aspects of life - and while some of this is stuff we've all heard before, the majority is not, and it's good to have a mixture in one volume, especially when many of ...more

As other reviewers have stated, most of the advice given is probably more relevant for a family of 4 with a reasonable income. Chapters are broken down by months of the year in which to best address particular financial issues, though most of the topics such as "holidays", "clothing", "mortgages" can be read at any time.

However, for now, I have found it useful to keep by my bedside and at the beginning of each month to re-read each relevant monthly chapter. It helps as a reminder of what, for e
