Looking back on that day, December 16, 2012, I wish I would have enjoyed it more. If wishes were fishes, right? Everything was so simple then. If I had known my whole world was about to spiral out of control, I would have called in sick to work and slept the afternoon away.

Nineteen-year-old Abigail Thornton’s family means everything to her. Her quarreling brother and siste

This is a strong first book, for both the author & the series. Well developed characters & back story. The scene is well set to lead you into book two, however there is plenty of action, so you don't feel as if you are just reading a "set up" book. Even though it is marketed as Young Adult, I enjoyed the fact that there was no teenaged angst, nor doormat characters. Also, the romance it contained is kept at a low enough simmer, and inter-spaced with enough butt kicking, that most guys wi ...more

This is a debut book that has lots of potential and engaging characters. It's a YA fantasy and the main girl finds out she's the chosen soldier and she has five days until the big fight. This is definitly the first book of a series as the ending is not quite an ending, but one of those to be continued... Rebecca has become an email friend and I wish she was one of my writing students because she has the talent, but needs more polish and I always enjoy helping other writers :)

Great first book!! In the line of the Twilight series; however, main character is humble, not insecure, and she does not have to change to be with her true love. Characters are well-rounded and likable. So many fun and good things about this book. Definately a good read.

This was a good book. It was an interesting twist about angels and demons. It did remind me a little bit of the Prophecy of the Sisters trilogy by Michelle Zinc because sisters are on opposite sides and only one can survive. I really liked the herione, Abi (Abigail) because she is strong-willed, smart, strong, and caring. Readers can relate to the characters. The writing flowed but there were words missing and or having the same word repeated. It was a quick read but I do wish there was more act ...more

Sooo.... I liked the concept of the book, but it was a little lacking in the quality department. There just weren't as many details as I would have liked there to be, and therefore it made the book somewhat hard for me to get through since it wasn't quite up to par for me. BUT, I did like the whole plot.
