CANYON SHADOWS has a great mix of suspense, interesting characters, and intense sexual chemistry between the main characters.
Shari is a dog trainer in Oregon who's getting ready to meet up with rancher Maco Durant when she's shot at by an unknown assailant. Maco arrives just in time to help Shari and her faithful dog, Ona. Maco is only supposed to be getting two of Shari's trained security dogs, but the heat between them is undeniable.

It was a good read but lacked something I just could not really place the characters maybe could have been fleshed out a bit more
As much as I hate to leave a book unfinished I've reached the point that I have so many fantastic books on my to read pile that I'm not going to force myself to carry on with something that I'm not enjoying.
I usually try to make it at least 100 pages before I give up on a story but in this case I only made it 9% of the way through before I had to put it down. It was just pushing too many buttons for me, you can see from my status updates exactly what was bugging me.

Yea I finally actually got through a Vonna Harper book w/o being discusseded. I actually enjoyed this book.
