As a fifth grade teacher, this was a good resource to look at for organizing and encouraging reading with older students. The section that I was most interested in was about book discussions (169-175). This part discusses the different kinds of book discussions that occur in different situations, including literature circles. I've used this book as both a reference in projects about middle school readers and literacy and for my own personal knowledge. It has a lot of great ideas in it and is a good addition to/starting place for anyone researching this very unique group of readers. It isn't a comprehensive look at middle school or literacy and reading habits, but I would defintely recommend checking it out. Some chapters are more interesting and helpful than others.
