This fourth book in the series is at the same time a perfect follow up in the same style as the other three but also very different. The sweeping sense of adventure and men battling to be, or prove, who they are is as amazing as it was in the first three volumes. The depth of the emotions and love the characters feel for each other grows gradually, but is no less intense for that. And the elegant way in which they repeat history – and yet don’t –surprised and delighted me; it was very well done....more

I don't know if I can finish this book. I read on my morning train ride to work, and this book made me so sad and irritated that it started to ruin my work day. Don't get me wrong, it was very well written and the setting was well done. And if you like the porno script with actual story vibe of the first books in this series you'll like this too. But what really got to me was that this book unnecessarily messed with the happy ending from the last book!
I mean I've read most of this book but none...more

The Next Generation is the fourth in D.J. Manly’s gripping series. This book has an overabundance of action and sex. If Manly’s well-written, highly descriptive writing style doesn’t have readers jumping into this book, the energetic gladiator battles and sexual encounters on every other page will definitely spark an interest that keeps the pages turning.

Nicolaus is a young man who feels he needs to step out of his father’s shadow an...more

It was hard for me to identify with Gold's son Nicolaus, as his character was immature and clueless most of the time. He thought only of becoming a champion to gain his father's favor when he had it all along. It was good though to revisit with Gold and Samson. As Nicolaus' love interest, Ariston, was a very likable character. Overall, the story was interesting with an HEA for all with the exception of Julian, who I hope we will see again in the future.

Beautiful, beautiful story. There is so much feeling, longing, passion and love. Both main characters pull you into there story and you can't end it before you don't see how they come together. It was really good book.

I write not only for my own pleasure, but for the pleasure of my readers. I can’t remember a time in my life when I haven’t written and told stories. When I’m not writing, I’m dreaming about writing, doing something wild and adventurous, or trying to make the world a better and more open minded place to live in. I adore beautiful men, and I know I’m not alone in this! Eroticism between consenting...more
