I've lost it. :( The only thing in the world I wasn't supposed to lose. My engagement ring. It's been in Magnus's family for three generations. And now, the very same day his parents are coming, I've lost it. The very same day. Do not hyperventilate, Poppy. Stay positive!! :)

A couple of glasses of bubbly with the girls at a charity do and Poppy's life has gone into meltdow...more

Overidentifying with a Sophie Kinsella character is often a sign that you're on the verge of:

a. a nervous breakdown
b. being arrested for fraud
c. Finnish Finnish Finnish
d. all of the above

Well, Finnish Finnish Finnish because I loved I've Got Your Number and totally related to the main character, Poppy. I mean, who isn't absolutely, life-on-the-line dependent on their cell phone? Who doesn't think the Lion King was the greatest musical?! And who hasn't pretended they were an answering machine whe...more

I received this book from the Goodreads "First-Reads" giveaway, and this was my first giveaway won. I was so excited to see that I'd won Sophie Kinsella's new book. This book is going to be released on Valentines Day.

As soon as I started this book I couldn't put it down. I had the afternoon off so I just sat here and read it cover to cover. It was such a fun read. I feel like Sophie is amazing at writing characters that are just so darn loveable, you can't help but root for them. Poppy is a prim...more

Lately, only two types of books have been appealing to me: completely epic ones or completely silly ones. I've Got Your Number most definitely falls under the second category. IGYN is funny, sweet, inspirational, romantic, enjoyable, and plain fun.

Poppy Wyatt loses her priceless engagement ring mere weeks before her wedding, and her cell phone soon thereafter. While searching for the former, she comes across a phone thrown in the trash can. Justifying her actions through the timeless "Finders k...more

I listened to I've Got Your Number on audio just after finishing Stephen King's On Writing. In that book, King speaks of his disapproval of relying too much on adverbs:

"I believe the road to hell is paved with adverbs, and I will shout it from the rooftops. To put it another way, they're like dandelions. If you have one on your lawn, it looks pretty and unique. If you fail to root it out, however, you find five the next day . . . fifty the day after that . . . and then, my brothers and sisters,

"...as his hands gently cup my waist, I don’t make a sound. As he swivels me around to face him, I don’t make a sound. I don’t need to. We’re still talking. Every touch he makes, every imprint of his skin is like another word, another thought, a continuation of our conversation. And we’re not done yet. Not yet."

How wonderful it is when two people meet and get to know each other! The beginning, the development of a relationship, is always exciting and glamorous.

I won this book from Goodreads and could not wait to read it. I am a fan of Sophie Kinsella books and have enjoyed all of them. I’ve Got Your Number is definitely one of my favorites – maybe the best book of Kinsella’s yet. I am sure tons of readers will feel the same way.

The book introduces Poppy Wyatt, a sweet, good hearted young woman engaged to a man she met only a short time ago. Poppy loses her engagement ring and finds a phone, both of these events lead to quite an adventure. Poppy deals...more

Sophie Kinsella is bloody brilliant! I'm a big fan and I've read all of her books, even those written as Madeline Wickham. She was one of my first favorite non-paranormal writers and I always have such a good time reading her books. I mean like laughing out loud, snorting, tears coming out of my eyes because it is so funny kind of good time. This book was no different. But for being so funny there is also always the right amount of emotion and conflict and a little bit of a mystery thrown in to...more

What a delight this book was! I think it's supplanted Twenties Girl as my favorite Sophie Kinsella story. I'm not usually a big fan of books where texts/e-mails are the main form of communication between characters, but Sophie handled it so well and I loved seeing the evolution of the relationship between Poppy (phone "borrower') and Sam (uptight businessman who's too busy to look at, much less respond to, his e-mails.) As always, Kinsella did a masterful job with the comedic bits in the book. I...more

Full five stars with hearts and kisses to Sophie Kinsella for coming up with a new fantastic novel. This and Can You Keep A Secret? are probably my favorite Kinsella novels. The giddiness I feel is superific. The smile on my face is like the Cheshire cat from alice in wonderland. Just like any other novel from the author, it has a simple but hilariously realistic plot, and...more

Oh my good god.

This is a book that sent me into a crazed frenzy. I LOVED IT!

WARNING: This review is going to be a jumble of thoughts with tiny hugs and kisses scribbled all over.

I loved every single character in this lovable novel. I loved the hilarious Poppy who tries in earnest to imitate the voice mail tone. I loved the clever Sam who shamelessly helps others cheat in Scrabble. I even loved the random stumpy Japanese businessman who kindly halted in his tracks t...more

Ha! I enjoyed this book so much. It was sweet even though it was nonsensical, it was funny even though it was illogical! I was actually laughing out loud while reading this. I would recommend this to anyone who loves Sophie Kinsella's works! Sweet, nice, enjoyable and very very funny!!

I have decided. I am going to marry a businessman with rumpled black hair who works at a consulting firm in England.

This may not seem very realistic, but it's better than when I wanted to marry a mobster. Hmm, a mobster disguised as a businessman...

Okay. Whatever. At the very least, Sam and Poppy must marry each other and pop out dark haired British babies. That is the only way it can be done.

I really enjoyed the incorporation of text and e-mail. Kinsella does it well...more

One of Sophie Kinsella's trait is her page-turner writings, and of course 'I've Got Your Number' is included. There's a typical silly but likeable main character, good and charming businessman, and also the plot layers. But I conclude that all details in this novel aren't compatible with the real world; it has much more coincidences compared with Twenties Girl or Shopaholic, and I can almost see that Poppy's actions are too determined by what happened in her surroundings (or by the author), not...more

Poppy Wyatt is having a bad day. First she loses the heirloom engagement ring her fiance gave her, then her cell phone is stolen right out of her hand. Luckily she finds a new cell phone in a trash can and decides "finders keepers". Somehow Poppy ends up talking her way into hanging onto the phone while forwarding its rightful owner's messages on to him. And of course they have chemistry, but she's engaged and getting married and meddles, and it almost doesn't turn out all right. It feels pretty...more

Typical Kinsella book - London setting, tall, dark, and handsome guy, late-twenty-something girl who's a bit silly and naive but lovable, even with all her quirks who gets herself into ridiculous situations that inevitably work out. If Kinsella has a formula, it's one that works for we fall in love, we root for the girl, and we wished we lived there too. Very funny, I couldn't help but laugh out loud, while in the next moment groaning at another ridiculous event. The story was fun and an interes...more

I’ve thought about it and have come to the conclusion there is just no logical reason why I love these books. The plot and the situations are often ridiculous and unbelievable, full of crazy coincidences and misunderstandings, the heroines tragically scattered and lost in every way, yet I still love them. Want to know why?

Because they’re bloody funny. I can never stop laughing while reading Sophie Kinsella books. And I’ve Got Your Number didn’t disappoint.

At the beginning of the book, ou...more

I didn't hate this book but there were a few things that kept me from loving it. Namely that it felt like a partial retread from Kinsella's Shopaholic books. I'm quickly tiring of the scatterbrained female protagonist trope, which I've Got Your Number's Poppy unfortunately was. And while I liked Sam, some of his reactions to Poppy seemed a little bit over the top and uncalled for. In addition to this, while I thought the idea of footnotes was cute, they didn't quite work for me. Maybe that's bec...more

Poppy Wyatt seems to have everything going in her favor - she is about to marry the ideal man - successful Magnus Tavish whose parents are even more successful university professors. But on the very day Magnus' parents are visiting, Poppy loses her engagement ring, which is also a family heirloom. On top of it, she also lost her phone and while she anxiously tries to ponder missing the one message saying her ring has been found, she finds another phone in the bin. Happy to find a functional disc...more

Şaşkınlıklar içindeyim! Daha birkaç ay önce Pasaklı Tanrıça’yı yakılacaklar listeme almış, “böyle kitap olmaz olsun” demiştim ama I’ve Got Your Number’ın arc kopyası elime geçince şansımı denemeye karar verdim, iyi ki de kitabı bir kenara atmamışım.

Kısa bir özet geçmek gerekirse; kitap ana karakter Poppy’nin nişan yüzüğünü kaybetmesiyle başlıyor ve bu talihsiz gece telefonunu çaldırmasıyla devam ediyor. Çöpte bulduğu bir şirket telefonunu sahiplenip, yüzüğünü arayan herkese yeni bulduğu numarayı...more

I've been a fan of Sophie Kinsella's novels since I read Confessions of A Shopaholic a few years ago. But the third book in the series, as well as The Undomestic Goddess weren't nearly as good and I had sort of given up on her books. So when I started I've Got Your Number, I wasn't expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised, however - this is a hilarious, timely novel!

Sophie Kinsella strikes again with I’ve Got Your Number! I’ve always been a fan of Sophie Kinsella’s books since I was in high school and now that I’m an adult in my early twenties I still am. There’s just something about the way she writes her novels that I can’t seem to find in other books. This book is not an exception at all. The novel’s main protagonists are Poppy Wyatt and Sam Roxton.

I love this novel as much as I loved her Shopaholic series, which by the w...more

An antique emerald ring with two diamonds. In a family for three whole generations. So precious it was kept in a special bank vault. And Poppy Wyatt lost it. Yes, her engagement ring is lost! After frantically looking for the ring everywhere, Poppy gives her mobile phone number out to everyone with instructions to call immediately if the ring is found. Then her bloody phone gets nicked! (American translation: Her phone is stolen!)

It is a coincidence that Poppy finds a brand new Nokia mobile in...more

OMG - Sophie Kinsella has done it again! It was completely absurd, cringe-worthy funny and a pure delight! I wouldn't rate it as her best book - but as chick-lit goes it is definitely in the highest percentile.

We meet Poppy who is a loopy super sweet doormat just when she has lost her engagement ring. Her fiance's grandmother's priceless emerald ring. And someone robs her of her phone and she finds a new one in the bin. "Finders keepers" and that is the beginning of the phone-sharing arrangemen...more

Brilliant! I absolutely loved this book!

After an agonizing day of losing not only her phone but engagement ring too, Poppy Wyatt finds some luck and a new phone in the trash bin. What she doesn't know is that the actual owner of that phone is going to turn her life upside down.

I feel like I got a really good sense of Poppy in this book. We saw all sides of her life and she was such a great flighty character. I don't think anyone could help falling in love with her. She did some pretty silly th...more

Gah. So. Cute.

This book was hilarious, fluffy, adorable, and the best feel-good book I have read in quite a while. With all the "tortured, brooding heros" in adult fiction and post-apocalyptic YA books lately, I've been craving something light to read. This novel delivered--and then some.

I haven't laughed out loud so much while reading since... well, since the last time I read a Sophie Kinsella novel (Can You Keep a Secret). While I've Got Your Number is now my favorite chick-lit book, I think...more

I'm a huge Sophie Kinsella fan, and let me just say that I adored "I've Got Your Number." It was hysterical--like pee in your pants funny! And I couldn't put it down. There's a part at the end that melted my heart ...
I wish there had been a little more romance, but that's because I'm a romance junkie.
But, if you like chick lit, humor, a little mystery, and British quirkiness, you will love this book.
