When my friend suggested I read this, I was a bit skeptical. She assured me it was a quick read and that I would learn a lot from it.

it's a novel about second chance actually.
don't we human make mistake every once in a while, and sometime we are just too numb, or too tired, or too self-absorb to change it.
therefore we should thank people who care enough to be the living reminder. who never gave up hope on us, while we already gave up with ourselves.

I was running hot and cold with this one. Brendon Burchard is a charming young man with a moving story that motivated him to change his life and to write this book. The "device" of the magical circus seems at times apt and at times a bit much, but there are some wonderful insights. My husband read this at the urging of a business associate. Paul rarely reads fiction but really liked this and insisted I read it. Here goes...

This book is not a super interesting one, but is indeed inspiring. For me, most things in the book slapped me on the face. Though my life is not on a bad term like the main character, I do forget about important things on my life, focusing on bad things while ignoring the good ones, and having fear towards my own goal just the main character. The only thing I don't really like about this book is the ending. Just because the ending is out of my expectation though :p

Awesome, awesome, Awesome! Book: I highly recommend it, it kept me on the edge of my seat!!! not only was it inspiring and gave me a new outlook on life, but it was a really good exciting read/story,... oh yeah I am definetly reading it again!!!!!!!!and I highly recommend it to everyone on this planet! (fyi. it's a short easy read too, 200pages, big words, perfect for a relaxing weekend).

This was an inspiring novel. It really made me think about my own life changes and what I truly want out of life. I laughed and cried, and overall felt changed just by reading it. As a warning though, it does have some rough parts like swearing here and there as well as a bit of suggestive stuff during the Hypnotist chapter. It was excellent otherwise, and I'm glad I read it.

A parable for letting go of negative experiences so one can move on and take advantage of the opportunities of life. A bit inspiring, a bit unrealistic (I certainly don't believe that dropping one's childhood--or later--baggage is nearly so simple), it did at least raise some interesting questions. It was also a very quick read, so not much left on the table in that respect.

The inspirational message was good, but the writing and delivery were a bit hokey. I wouldn't recommend reading it if you're out for entertainment. Also, Brendon shouldn't have used a victim of abuse for the protagonist. Abuse affects the way your brain develops and changing one's thinking is not as easy as making a decision. Could have been done better.
I enjoyed the acknowledgments - it's fun to know people in them.

What sounds like a neat story premise - going to a haunted carnival and getting the chance to relive your life, is actually just a cover for a step-by-step self help book. Sort of like the Celestine Prophecy, but simpler. The ideas are good, and sometimes it's nice to get a step-by-step way to examine your life, but as a novel, it just doesn't cut it.

When I started reading this book I was mistaken with the content however it sucked me into the storyline and I was pleasantly enthralled with the inspiration. This is not your normal self help book but you will find yourself thinking about those surrounding you and how you want your life to move. Read it, it's easy to read and engaging.

This is the first book my new book club selected. At first I thought it was going to be great, but very soon after I started reading, I found the main character deeply annoying. He just made me mad. Knowing Brendon, I have several good laughs in totally inappropriate places. It is hard to believe that he came up with something like this. He is a good salesman! A true carny at heart.... I am a bit curious about the woman refered to in the prologue (kris arnold????). Guess this books frees me to write my historical romance novel. If Brendon can do it, I can do it!

Mediocre at best. The description reminded me a bit of "Last Lecture" which is one of my favorite books. This was an extremely fast read (less than 2 hours). The underlying message was positive - don't only think about yourself and how things effect you, but the way it was written made them feel cheesy at times.
