I really liked this book. At first I was really annoyed with it and how everything was falling apart in Foo. But near the end I became hopeful again and I am excited for the next book. The creatures and the stories behind this book is just amazing. How people come up with things like this I just don't know. May fate be good to Foo.

I’ve mentioned with the two earlier books that I saw a lot of similarities between this series and Harry Potter. I’ve also noticed that the author has a way of inserting little thoughts about life and the situations in the book that reminds me of the way Lemony Snicket writes in “A Series of Unfortunate Events.”
I am glad that this book has an index because it gets a little hard to keep track of all the different people and types of creatures. I thought that the second book ...more

This is an interesting story line and I'll probably finish the series. I like the imagination of the author that create such fantastical possibilities. However, this book is very different from, say, "Wrinkle In Time." Often the descriptions are too broad and the magical definitions too general to engage me in the book. In each book, I've found myself having to relearn about the characters and the rules (which seem to conveniently change) that govern them.

This book was much better than the second. It was adventurous and exciting. I knew all the characters and was more "comfortable" in Foo after the extensive character/place development in the second book. :) I REALLY enjoyed the Want character. He was great. Can't wait for "Leven Thumps and the Wrath of Ezra"!

This is the third volume of the Leven Thumps series, and I am still finding that I like some parts while other parts still annoy me. I will admit that the balance is tipping and I am not as annoyed as I was in the earlier two books. This gives me hope for the next one in the series.
As in the previous book, the storyline that grabbed me most was the one dealing with Tim, Ezra, and Dennis, along with the remnants of Sabine. The fact that Ezra is really made up of Geth's darker emotions...more

I enjoyed the book overall. One complaint I have about this series that seemed more promounced in this book is that just as a character gets into a really dire situation the author moves to another scene. That does keep the pages turning, but gets a bit annoying for me, especially as he goes through several other scenes before coming back.

When I first began reading this book, I had hoped that it would be the final installment. In fact, when I saw that there was a fourth book in the bookstore, I groaned out loud.
However, as I got into the book, I realized that it was the best installment yet. Typically as the plot develops, I groan at intricate sub-stories that really only exist to make the book longer (I think Skye could cut out many useless chapters from his books and make a solid two part story. But no--there's no ...more

Tedious, tedious, tedious. I'm finally through rereading so I can read the 4th book. Again with this one, the ending was much better than the rest of the book. It takes soooo long to get to the point, and we have to wade through way too many places and events that don't really mean anything because we encounter them so briefly. The writing style is clever but sometimes drives me crazy because it can be over the top. I'm not really invested in the story, I guess--and I have a feeling it will be d...more

this book wasn't that great. i just wanted to know how it turned out so i forced myself to keep reading (it took me 3 weeks to finish - and if you know how fast i read...yes, it was that bad) it's such a harry potter/lemony snicket knock-off (it's obvious the author is trying way too hard) and the introduction of way too many characters, things, places (i could barely keep all the wording straight - it's almost like reading a book in a foreign language). the ending was the worst cliff-hanger ...more

this book was alright. still not as good as the first one, but better than the second. there were still things that got thrown into the plot simply for the convenience of them. and the author kept talking about himself. his gimmick of relating his story directly to the readers is one thing, but before he was able to stay out of his story. however, there was a lot more flow to the story and things made a lot more sense. so i will have to get ahold of the next one and read it too. ps, as m...more

A bit of floundering in this one, I'm sort of wishing it would hurry up and get to the point. What point? I'm not sure yet. Series is good enough to be recommended to my picky 12 year old daughter.

Third in the Leven Thumps collection. A great addition, I felt, to the series. So much happens. And I really like Geth as a person.

This book was absolutely awsome. It gave a whole new twist on the storyline of the series and has a very good ending.

I enjoyed this book for the most part, but sometimes it was a bit hard to follow and get into. I think there are too many outlandish characters for me to be able to get too involved with it. Sometimes I really didn't "get" what exactly was going on. Maybe it was just me though. I tend to space out while reading sometimes and I have to go back and re-read. Though, I usually don't have quite as hard a time with a book.
But over all, I enjoy the author's wit. I love the h...more

The more I read this series, the less I like it. The plot lines are really imaginative, and I enjoy some of the bantering conversations in the book and the humor, but I was honestly bored most of the way through the book. There is no engagement of the reader in these books -- no clues to pick up on, no foreshadowing, just one sticky situation after another. The characters are flat and there just isn't any depth to this. Lots of the subplots don't come together or make much sense (I suppose t...more
