I'm not sure why so many rated this book with such high ratings... For me, this book was a fast, funny and entertaining read but nothing I'll remember tomorrow. I usually enjoy a light read every now and then, but this one was maybe a bit too shallow. I was extremely mad at how the idea I had from all the previous books about the Hero was completely disfigured. Christian Notte was a character that had absolutely intrigued me since he first appeared. I used to think he was so interestin...more

I discovered Lynsey Sands and her wonderful Argeneaus after about the tenth book in the series was out. I gobbled them all down one after the other and loved them. I do remember thinking they were getting a bit repetitive, but I simply loved this quirky family and the humor that Ms. Sands incorporates into her writing. Now that I read them as they come out, it's like revisiting great friends and catching up with their lives.

Carolyn is on vacation with her girlfriends to help herself recover from dealing with a bad marriage and a divorce that’s almost finalized. Her soon to be ex-husband was emotionally abusive and a schemer who only married her for her large inheritance. Disappointing :(
Carolyn is finally ready to move on after being in a bitter battle with her soon to be ex-husband for over two years Carolyn is finally ready to let lose with her friends in Island of St. Lucia.
But when she gets there is seems to depress her even more, because around every corner there is a newly wed couple or a couple in love and all Carolyn wants to do now is get drunk with her friends. But as it happens Carolyn can't even get drunk with her friends because one is sick and the o...more

I had been curious about the Argeneau series and understood that these books could be read out of sequence, with a suggestion that the experience would be more complete when read in order. Alas, I started with the 16th book about Christian Notte. I found humor, PG13 sex, romance and an utterly ridiculous story line. It's not fair to judge an entire body of work on just one book, but based on what I read, I wonder if the Argeneau series is my kind of vampire tale. This book included a sneak peek...more
I won this through on of my book blogs, Literary Escapism. I realized after I received it that I had already read it last year, but for some reason it wasn't listed on my GoodReads Already Read list. I have had about 20 books that dropped off my GR Read list over a few week period, and I think there must have been some website problem. When I got it as a book prize, this month, though, I re-read it so I could do a review on it. I did enjoy it more then 2nd time around.

I'm not a fan of the Argeneau series, which I consider more Chick-lit with fangs than UF/PNR. I have read a couple of books only (the first and the ninth, if I'm not wrong) with mixed feelings.
Christian's book was on offer at 1.99 and I said why not? It's quick, I grant you that. But I can't phantom why write PNR when your fantasy world is non existent. :)
If you are a fan of fluffy, light romance, it's a good choice. But you really have to like "light" (or is it shallow?)
Moreover, you shouldn'...more

I love this series and the way Lynsay Sands writes it, so I'm sorry to say that this time I'm a bit disappointed. Although I had some great laughs while reading Under a Vampire Moon, I have to say halfway through I was a bit bored and I feel like I was "cheated" at the ending. I don't know, I guess I'm one of those readers that just loves a mushy sweet epilogue, and I surely wanted one this time.

Under A Vampire Moon...
By
Lynsay Sands
My " in a nutshell" summary...
A vampire finds his soulmate while away on an island...but in doing so he has to pretend to be gay.
My thoughts after reading this book...
Hmmm...a weirdly funny premise...to get Carolyn to spend time with Christian...she is told by his cousin that he is gay and needs Carolyn to be his " beard". How funny is this?
Very funny...Christian is not the gay one plus he is a vampire.
So...back to my thoughts...I really don't think that this...more

I bought this book in audio format so I can listen to it at work and, honestly, if you're looking for something more than dimestore romance of the Mills & Boon variety, this isn't for you. So if you're a vampire lover who likes the whole nobility and aristocratic, out of time vampires; run and run fast.
The plot device taken to get these two to spend time together is cheap and smacks vaguely of a brand of subterfuge that can either be viewed as 'romantic' or vaguely non-consensual. It also m...more

I only rated this one 3 stars because, well I just didn't love it like the others. I haven't really loved it since she finished with the core family and started bringing in the cousins. Not that I didn't enjoy reading about Thomas because I so did, but the spark that courses through Marguerite's children seems to be missing from the others.
This story get's back to that original line since it's Christian's story, but I didn't fall in love with him like I did with Bastien or Etienne. I'm not sure...more

It's quite a fun read. I like Christian, very much. He is a very patient man, considering that this is a PNR book and most of the time the hero will play Tarzan to the girl's Jane. So in a way this book is rather different. I've read the first book of the series but didn't find it quite as engaging as this. Glad I tried this one out, but maybe it's also because I like the characters more than the other one. I noticed that Lynsay likes to pair off couple with huge age gap (skimmed through one of...more
I love vampires and in particular, vampire romances. I especially love a Lynsay Sands vampire romance. And it’s not just because a lot of these vampires live in Canada, it’s because they’re not really vampires, they’re immortal descendents of Atlantis. They have nanos in them that keep them at peak physical condition and prevent them from aging. The trade off is the need to ingest blood on a regular basis. If you do a blood exchange with one of these immortals the nanos will reverse the aging pr...more

Certainly life can be difficult for an immortal (they do not call themselves vampires) when he has to win the hearts and confidence of his lifemate, especially when she is a woman of forty-two years and divorced, him five hundred years old even though it shows up twenty-five. Equivochi comedy of this story starring Carolyn and Christian. The family wants to help him and he thinks it well to say that he is gay in Caro, so she will feel less uncomfortable since the age difference and the attractio...more

Finished Under a Vampire Moon: An Argeneau Novel and thoroughly enjoyed it, very much like the early books. The premise of the relationship wears a bit but as an addition to the series it was great :) Probably between a 3.5-4 Star effort and maybe even a bit more if you are addicted to the series (such as I am). I must admit that I must have enjoyed it very much sine I tore through it in 1 day and its about 350 pages, but since she has...more

The entirety of UNDER A VAMPIRE MOON takes place on St. Lucia. Even if I didn't adore Lynsay Sands, which I do, and didn't love this book in particular, which I did, I would still think that UNDER A VAMPIRE MOON is good for Saint Lucia. Seriously, Anse Chastanet and Jade Mountain aren't mentioned by name but I've taken the liberty of extrapolating and put the island and these resorts at the top of my list for our thirtieth wedding anniversary in January. What a gorgeous place! Really, Lynsay cou...more

I don't usually read novels in a series out of order. I really dislike doing that but I had the opportunity to receive this novel as an ARC. There's no way I can read 15 books in front of this one and get my review in before the publishing date so I had to break my rule and read book 16 in the Argeneau series.
I enjoyed the way this one unfolded and I found that it was paced fairly well. I liked all of the characters and found they really gave this one that extra something. Not really knowing any...more

"Under a Vampire Moon" makes its debut as book number sixteen in the "Argeneau Vampire" series. Lynsay Sands, gives us another glimpse into an immortals struggle to find and secure a "lifemate." As with most "Argeneau" tales, the pronouncement of a lifemate, begins with the loving interference of one, Marguerite Argeneau. I'm a big fan of the books in the series that feature Marguerite. She's always funny and mischievous and she can always spice up a story that is a little flat.
