A little different from what I expected. I thought Jacob would be more approachable based on his appearances in the other books. However, it makes sense to see him so cold, so disconnected from life. Especially with his fears of hurting others and doing violence as a legacy of his father's abuse and substance abuse.

The metaphor of a gardener painstakingly and lovingly transforming and rehabilitating a neglected garden to its former glory reflects how Mollie helps Jacob to come to terms with thi
Without a doubt, the best of the Bad Blood/Notorious Wolfes series!

I loved that the author was able to write such a genuinely nice, likeable hero who had experienced such horrible physical and emotional abuse as a child and teen. It would have been so much easier to make him rude, unbearable, and brutish. Sure, he kept his secrets to himself and worried about the hurt he'd caused his loved ones in the part or the hurt he could cause them in the future, but he wasn't the usual "I'm incapable of l
Finally we get Jacob's story and it is the best. For the past six months he's been hard at work to restore Wolfe manor and plans to sell it and he has also been trying to repair his relationship with his siblings. Jacob is a tortured man, haunted by his failures, he holds himself responsible for everything and fears happiness. Mollie was the daughter of the gardener and lived on a cottage on the Wolfe for years and nursed her father till he died. She returns 6 months later and runs into Jacob. H ...more
A pretty good ending to the series.

Jacob Wolfe. He was the one who finally managed to stop William Wolfe (by accidentally killing him, but still). He had carried the guilt with him for the last 20 years. He managed to make a life for himself as a successful architect. But he is so withdrawn from life. Control is important but not to the measure he takes it.

Mollie is the daughter of the gardener that took care of the Wolfe Manor. She spent most of her childhood trailing behind the Wolfe siblings
The book begins with the heroine Mollie arriving at Wolfe Manor, where she lives in the gardeners cottage, after a six month trip to Italy she took after he fathers death. When she gets to her cottage she discovers that the power has been switched off and is confronted by Jacob, the hero, who thinks she is an intruder. Jacob has been away from his childhood home for 20 years after he left haunted by events that led to him killing his evil father. He has returned to restore Wolfe Manor before mov ...more
No merecía p

Unfortunately this book did not live up to my expectations. The story was slow to build. It was basically about how Jacob felt he was evil because he killed his father. I'm not really sure what Molly's deal was. She was demanding to know what Jacob had done while he was away like she was entitled to an explanation. Also a big part of Molly's story was how she was invisible while she was growing up at the manor, then for some reason Jacob remembers that she used to follow him around like a love s ...more
Slow but romantic coming together of two lonely people emotionally scarred by during their youth. Jacob is a distant serious guy who hides a terrible secret and believes that deep down he isn't a good person. Molly knew him growing up and has always been drawn to him. Slowly (a little too slowly) they get to know each other and trust each other. The ending was sweet and very romantic and I get the feeling that there were more books about the siblings before this one. I liked this one enough that ...more

Loved this book! This is the last in the series The Notorious Wolfe's by Harlequin Presents. It's about Jacob Wolfe, a man who, in order to protect his siblings from himself, abandoned them when he was eighteen. Now he's back to fix Wolfe manor in order to sell it. Only then can he move past the painful memories it holds, of his father's abuse and the night Jacob killed him in order to protect his sister. Jacob is my favorite type of hero...tortured. He's convinced he has the potential to be abu ...more
I love contemporary romances that span a series and particularly like seeing the ways in which characters evolve across a number of books. This is understandably more challenging when the series is penned by a number of authors so I give the numerous authors credit for maintaining some semblance of continuity over eight novels.

The Lone Wolfe wraps up the "Notorious Wolfes" series and while it does the ending justice, it's a little drier than some of its predecessors. Maybe it's that Jacob is the
This was my first time ready a book by this Author.. I gotta say.. I was impressed.

I've read a few of these books but never reviewed until now. Eventually I will review every book I've read from this author and many more..

God I loved what books I read in this series. This novel in itself was so beautiful. I've been waiting for Jacob's part, throughout all the other novels I felt Jacob's pain, loss, frustration and sadness. I was so glad the book ended in such a positive manner.

I can't express enough how beautiful this book is. Everyone definitely needs to read it, it works as

Ceritanya agak ngebosanin menurutku... gak seenjoy waktu baca Tortured Rake...

Padahal aq penasaran ceritanya Jacob... Tp agak sedikit kecewa bacanya... Belum lagi alasan Jacob ninggalin adik2nya itu agak sedikit maksa... gak diperdalam.. Interaksi antar Jacob sm adik2nya juga cm diending... Sayang sekali padahal ini buku terakhir serial Bad Blood.. Seharusnya lebihh gimanaaaaa gitu

So, 3,5 star cukuplah

This book is so good. I got so caught up in the storyline. it. invoked so many different emotions. The writer did a good job with capturing everything. Child Abuse, Alcoholism, Death, Grief, and Love. This is the last book of the series now I want to read the other 7 books. This was a strong ending thanks Kate Hewitt.

A wonderful, and emotional, end to the series.

Jacob Wolfe has to finally face the demons in his past, and realize they are not neccessarily the demons within. Opening the darkness within him to be filled with the light of Mollie's love and passion is a great story.

A brilliant end to an excellent series. I love a tortured hero and Jacob is tortured in spades. Again I read this in one sitting. I might just have to re-read them all again, because this series really hooked me :-)
4.5 stars

Definitely the best of the whole series. Hewitt did an excellent job of portraying an emotionally damaged man and a sweet woman willing to help him overcome them and learn to live again.
Wonderful story. It is the first one ive read of the series, i intend on finding the rest!
