Considering this is a textbook, I don't have a whole lot to say about it. It was quite readable, though, and the disorders in the DSM-IV-TR are explained clearly. There are handy "quick reference" areas with case studies, the DSM criteria for disorders, treatment plans, etc., that I found to be very useful. A little bit of the neuropsychology behind some of the disorders is not explained terribly well, however.

All in all, though, a good reference to have.

Very useful, not just for diagnosing but I often refer to this when checking the criteria of educational-services, qualifications, and comprehensive assessments (psycho-education & behavioral). I also use this as a guide/reference when writing my observations & report summaries.

Although this addition was updated to include diversity, it could use a better representation this inclusion.

The book has good info, at times leaving out descriptions that are assumed to be understood as psychological terms, more description and analysis could be beneficial in these areas. Overall, very good info and case study examples..
