In November, 1994, one of history's most diabolical serial-killers is beaten to death by another inmate in the prison where he was serving fifteen consecutive life sentences. Jeffrey Dahmer is dead. Or is he?

Two weeks after the madman's body is buried, another cannibalistic murder spree begins. Fingerprints, DNA, and modus operandi all link Dahmer to the hideous crimes.

Recommended to: Crime thriller or mystery lovers, not necessarily Lee's fans

What I like about this book is it's fast-paced and well-researched. This is the best book of Lee I've encountered so far. I thought I was reading something by Patricia Cornwell or Tess Gerritsen. But no, it's actually written by Ed Lee and Ms. Elizabeth Steffen.

Unlike "Going Monstering", the plot in "Dahmer's Not Dead" is woven carefully and quite nicely, in my opi

Wow, I have to start with that word. I could start with a lot of other words strung together, but they would be swear words and I don't think that would be the best idea!! This book dives right into the atrocities done by Jeffrey Dahmer culminating to when he is finally caught and arrested in 1991. The writing in the prologue is so very detailed. You could literally be watching this through the police officers body cameras (if there had been body cameras back in 1991). You are seeing the same ...more

One of the things I like about Edward Lee is his lack of restraint when it comes to his descriptive passages of violent acts in his novels. What I like about this book is his restraint when it comes to the descriptive passages of violent acts. Confusing? Not really. Lee and Steffen create a thriller that can rival any out there, with a very interesting premise. The plot is tight and well researched, and moves along without a hitch. I would have liked more splatter, but when I realized it was not ...more

Very different for Edward Lee, this is a twisty turny police procedural novel about an investigator trying to figure out a string of murders that are supposedly being committed by the recently deceased Jeffrey Dahmer. For much of the book I was confused and not thrilled with the book, but the way the crazy plot ties together at the end is actually pretty brilliant, and redeems much of the distastefulness of writing fiction about a real serial killer who killed real people. Not Lee's best work, ...more

Well written, good characters, and a page turning story. Jeffrey Dahmer is murdered while incarcerated, but after a killer purporting to be Dahmer begins a murder spree. The investigating detective doesn't believe Dahmer did it, how could he? but the evidence suggests it was Dahmer! I enjoyed this very much.

Very good read, a nice twist on the Dahmer case. A lot of typos, but overall, an engaging plot and good suspense.

Not quite the book I though it was (tagged it as a True Crime novel), nonetheless, it was an entertaining read.
