Seventy-three-year-old Fred Vickery never listened to advice, and he's not about to start now. He's the only person in Cutler, Colorado, who doesn't believe that Joan Cavanaugh committed suicide. So against the wishes of his overly concerned daughter and the sheriff, Fred embarks on a new career as a sleuth. This is the first novel in the Main Street Mystery series.

This is an older series I've just discovered, loved it!! Plenty of intrigue...then I discovered the library had only ordered this 1st book--uuuughh!! I will probably order the rest of the series as E-books!!

Fred is my new hero

I loved the character development and the story line. It was easy to visualize the places. I enjoyed the fact that Fred was older and still very capable. I will be looking for more Fred.

This is a nice little cozy set in a small town, when there's a male senior citizen as the main character. Something different for cozies. This is a nice three-day read with good drama and suspense.
