I, Omega is one of those books I shake my head over reviewing. I had 182 comments on my Kindle by the time I finished this, most of them places where I was confused, thinking "WTF" or "Oh hell, no", rolling my eyes, gagging at weird moments of sentimentality, or being generally fed up. None of this lends itself to coherent criticism.

Most novellas sacrifice either plot or character because there isn't room to develop both. When you add in paranormal shifter el More...

If you are looking for a book that completely lacks the following, this one is for you! True winner!

Amazing plot, interesting characters, mindblowing sex-scenes, at least decent, if not great writing, totally acceptable run for your money.

Yes. This book definitely lacked all of that. Where do I start?

First of all, the petnames were disturbing. We are supposedly talking about a 'dom' here. An alpha. Guy who can rip people apart, hunt, feeds the sub his blood. A More...

BDSM Reviews

This was an odd one for me. I'm writing out my thoughts before I write my official review. I like Ms. Gregg's books. I liked the theme ~ BDSM. I also enjoy shifters. Still, this one rubbed me slightly the wrong way. It's taken me a couple of days to figure out what bothered me. It's the BDSM interaction. It was off for me.

1. The punishment scene just didn't flow for me. First of all, 10 swats is not More...

This is not a story without flaws. In fact, I would say there were a lot of things that could have used more work. Explanations were rare and mostly inconclusive. The definition of Gabriel's exact role in that pack wasn't as clearly defined as it could have been and Cal was conflicting in himself and especially when it came to his relationship toward Gabriel.

What bothered me the most was lack of details about the world. It seemed like it would be overwhelming and interesting and I kn More...

I have mixed feelings about this book. In a small way I completely hated it, but there is also a small part of me that really liked. My issues derive from, that the book had the opportunity to be spectacular, but in the end, I got these one-dimensional characters with zero likeability. In the beginning, the book was exciting but about 30 pages in I was completely More...

I must say, shifter stories never really interested me, but then people convinced me to read Kim Dare's Duck!, which really shook me up. I'm still not that interested in shifter stories, but it certainly didn't put me off this book, which is the second of Kari Gregg's I've read. I'd give this story 4.5 stars if I could, since it is really good on the whole, and it's flaws - for me - are quite minor.

"I, Omega" is a bit like Duck!, in that in broad outline, it concerns a submis More...

At first, the author has a good writing style.
But that is all good what I can say about this book.

Where is the story? What is the story?
Whoever has written the blurb does a really good job.
But the rest of the book?? Eewww!!

<spoiler>Cal (wanna-be Dom/Master) meets Gabriel in a club. They have sex. Cal bites Gabriel and then he is gone. Gabriel is changing (in what??) and fled. After two months Cal finds Gabriel. They have sex and some biting….. More...

I loved the story. It was intense and sexy and Cal was a perfect dom.
I wish there was more. Jake is definitely an interesting person and I was a little disappointed he had so abruptly vanished at the end of the book. Nevertheless - 5 stars!

This book takes you on a rollercoaster of emotions because you're riding with the main character and he has no clue to what's going on at first. The truths are revealed slowly, peeled away in slow layers that I enjoyed. And I would have worried for him, for Gabriel, that he was being abused but from the beginning, at every moment you hear in his own thoughts that he needs Cal, wants whatever Cal wants, and needs to be claimed by his master. To feel whole, Gabriel needs the ownership and the outw More...

This is the 1st dubcon book that I read willingly. I am not a fan of non consensual sexual violence in my entertainment, but some trusted sources convinced me to try it. I was surprised to find that I didn't really interpret the supposed dubcon as such.

What I saw from Gabriel's POV was his confusion due to the werewolf effects his body was going through, his fear that he was somehow defective. His initial fear of Cal seemed to be based on the fact that he felt Cal was going to kill h More...

I enjoyed the first half of this book. The sense of dubious consent but needy submissiveness on Gabriel's side was vivid - and hot. I would actually have preferred more of the darker elements, though. I'll admit to that kink.

The latter half of the book started slowly falling apart, but it could be that my perception was influenced by a couple of the reviews I'd read. I felt that in the first half of the book, Gabriel's reluctant neediness for Cal had been pretty cle More...

1 star - this story was a mess, with contradictions and scenarios that baffled me.

Cover - the single torso works for me, the scratches on the backdrop are good. There's a sort of water stain on his belly that bleeds out a tattoo on his arm - is this meant to be there?

MC's - Gabriel - a submissive, 32 years old, accountant. Story is from his 3rd person POV. Cal - dominant shifter (wolf), alpha, runs an investment company.

BDSM - yes, there's lots. Spanking, More...

I, Omega has one of THE best descriptive blurbs I've had the pleasure to read. I would have bought this book based on that alone. Having read the story, I assure you I couldn't sum it up any better myself if I tried. It's a very well written, fast paced story with a fascinating plot. Reading this was like being caught in the eye of a storm. It was a breathtaking exhilarating rush from beginning to end which I won't soon forget. And it is mind-bendingly hot. Off the charts gonna make you squirm a More...

What a pile of rubbish this was...

Since I already have a Gabriel in mind when I hear that name, I changed this ones name to Hans-Peter (HP). Cal goes by Sunshine, since we didn't learn Cal's name before around 30% of the book, and I refuse to refer to him as either Master or Sir, by then Sunshine was firmly established as his name in my mind.

And not saying a word about the writing-style (I think I was to shocked and disgusted by the content to actually notice the style), More...

This is a shifter story that focuses more on the character’s relationship than on say, the world building, which I think works out well as we’re only talking 138 pages here.

Whatchya gonna get in those 138 pages is one a whirlwind of a ride. Yep, this is a fast paced tale that unfolds through Gabriel’s POV. So the reader discovers that there is more to Gabriel than just sucktitude at being a werewolf, as he does. Along the way, you’ll discover that there is more to Cal as well. I was More...

I must be honest--I did not start out wanting to love this story! I wanted to hang on to the notion that Cal was just an abusive Master--a dom who thrived on humiliating his sub. I wanted to think that Cal could not possibly be any good for Gabriel--that somehow Gabriel would escape this all consuming wereshifter who held him captive body and soul! I didn't want to hang on every word, tremble at every turn of the page, gasp at every sex drenched scene. But in the end, what I wanted didn't ma More...

I am not quite sure where to begin....I don't usually write reviews, because everyone likes or hates books for reasons that are their own, but I promised a friend I would write one for this one (you know who you are *glares*)

Well, there were spots of potential in the book, but they skittered away really fast every time I managed to spot one. Like turning on lights and having all the creepy crawlies scatter. The concept of shifters and omegas is an interesting one, but you have to e More...

I was torn on my rating here. I enjoyed this story and it is terrifically well written, especially in Gabriel's viewpoint. It takes you right along on the journey of confusion and fear with him. BUT it was just a little to hardcore with the BDSM elements for me so parts... ok a lot of parts... did make me uncomfortable. If BDSM makes you squicky at all then this is definitely not for you but I'd encourage you to read another of this authors books. If it IS your thing then you'll love this. I hav More...

I started this book quite excited and curious as to how it would develop. But it proved a bit too much for me. I'd give it a 2.5 star rating.

<spoiler>There was too much violence in their coupling. I found it hard at times to read mostly because I kept wincing at the pain Gabriel must have felt. Or I'm not that much attracted to pain to understand its appeal. The BDSM element was slightly more hardcore than I can stomach. Which ultimately made me like the story less. I might ha More...

The style and the pace of this story are what really make it. The story is very fast-paced; it starts out running and doesn't really slow down. The entire time, Gabriel is scared, overwhelmed, confused, and the reader feels all of that alongside him, since we only know what Gabriel knows and that's not really much. Though our view of him is limited, I really like Cal; that he cares is never in doubt, and I think a lot of writers with a premise like this would have a hard time conveying that with More...

I agree with many of the criticisms made here about this book, however, the heat factor was so high for me that I'm giving it a 5 based on the intensity of that, alone. This is a steamy, albeit all too short, read. Yes, the world and the more minor characters are not fully developed and some of the character’s actions are a bit confusing (why does the overly dominant Cal want Gabriel to suddenly call him Cal instead of Sir, without explanation? Why are interesting characters like Jake and Burk More...

Hmmm...All in all, it was a well-written story because the background was definitely (although hinted to the reader in bits and pieces) very rich, and descriptions of different scenarios - I could actually picture them out in my head as I read them.

However, because this is written from only one person's POV, it was quite confusing to me at times. For example, I didn't really understand if the normal humans in the story actually know that Shifters/Supernatural communities exist? From More...

Not only is the cover hot but so is the book. The first 30 pages include one long domination/submission scene which gives some backstory and is one of the most erotic sex scenes I've read in m/m d/s in awhile. It simply didn't get old or repetitive. It got into the mind of the sub so completely.

The story is about Gabriel and Cal. Gabriel is an accountant and a long time submissive with a conservative senator for a father (who loves him). Cal is a wolf shifter. Cal bit Gabriel the nig More...

Frankly writing, I can not untangled my feelings in relation to this book. Style of writing is very addictive - the only reason I finished reading was clear and engaging writing - especially in Gabes POV - it perfectly reflects his state of mind - his confusion, fear and pain/pleasure become mine. On the other hand I had the biggest problem with the events recounted in the story: the first part of the story for me was the almost indigestible - <spoiler> a frightened puppy fed with the bloo More...

When we first meet Gabriel, he has been on the run for two months. Before this, he had been a normal guy -- working as an accountant, driving a Taurus, and spending an occasional evening at a club enjoying being a sub. However, one night he meets a master who forever changes him, turning him into something no longer fully human. Gabriel flees and is now hiding out from his master and the other shifters who hunt him. He is starving, craving his master, and struggling on his own. As a reader, I c More...

This hit my kinks just right. Gabriel is the bottomiest bottom you could ever want, and Cal is a super alpha top, and they are required to have sex all the time (while the bond forms). It is short, but not too short. The strangest thing (I thought) was how everything smells - Gabriel has a whole new world of smells now that he has been changed, and it covers every part of his life now - the irresistable smell of his master, the forest, etc, etc.

Footnote: I felt sorry for Jake, he More...

I love this story. I loved Kari's Spoils of War and when I received Kari's newsletter, I read the blurb, and spent the next few minutes reading the excerpt - and I was sold.

I won't rehash the plot, but I will say I completely fell in love with Cal. I still have a difficult time with the slave/master dynamic, but this one wasn't so harsh as to make me cringe.

While I'm not into werewolves and shifters, Kari's weren't over the top, and while the story centered on the characters More...

We read this story from Gabriel's POV, and we are not told everything about what's going on until Gabriel figures it out for himself at the end, so expect to be confused to an extent most of the way through.

There's something special about Gabriel though. One night, after playing with a new Dom, things during play take a surprising turn. When he wakes up alone, Gabriel runs away in fear. Then he notices the changes within himself, slight at first but slowly getting stronger. Even so, More...

What a treasure! I really enjoyed this book and can see myself revisiting it many times. While Cal, the alpha male, was all that an alpha should be, he was also tender and loving. He allowed, no he encouraged Gabriel to discover himself. He nurtured him through Gabriel's "kink" providing just what was needed to help him to feel protected and safe.

I loved the interaction, be it small of the other characters. They provided the perfect foil and made me hope for future stories More...
