*Note: This review was originally posted when the cover and blurb were different. If the inside contents of the story have also changed since then, I'm unaware.

I am going to start off by saying that I absolutely freaking love the cover of this book. I find it very yummy. And is it just me or does anyone else think of Robert Pattinson when they look at the guy on the front?

Anyway, I'd seen Secrets around the book blogging community so I was very curious about it an that cover drew me in like craz

Wonderful characters and an interesting, refreshing take on vampires! I only wish it was longer.

I enjoyed this little novella. It was a fast, entertaining read! And I can’t wait to read the second one ^_^

However, I must talk about a few things that I didn’t like about it. One, the fact that vampires need to be invited in *spoil alert* so when Declan’s friend/brother of his coven goes through Riley’s second floor window to retrieve the all so powerful bracelet, it bugged me. Since you know, they need to be invited in!?! So how the hell did he get in? *end of spoiler*.

Second, it was a littl

This book has so much potential. I wish it were at least a 300 page novel. All the plot points happened at a fast pace and there was no development for anything of the characters or the romance. I know going into it that it was going to be a fast read but I expected plot and character development, or at least begin to do it considering it's a series, but nope. So much happened so fast. I did not care much for the story and characters as a result.

Between 2/2.5* for me.
I thought the plot premise was good but it all seemed a bit hectic and jumpy about so needed a bit of thought to keep up with who was what and who they were with or against.
It read quite quick so I think a slightly longer treatment might have got some more time to associate with the characters, as it was I felt that I had a handle on something, then it all changed again.
Nice cliffhanger ending.

I was honored to get a little sneek peek of The Boys of Summer before it was released. I enjoyed it then, and enjoyed it even more now that I had the rest of the story to indulge in! Yet again, the author crafts a wickedly entertaining quick read. Exactly HOW long do I have to wait for book two????? ?:O
