Recommends it for: entrepreneurs, small business owners, people with the dream of teaching others
Inspirational without all the rah-rah fluff. Best part of the whole book? The Expert Signposts. They ask questions that lead to actionable answers. I'm probably the most motivated I've ever been after reading a "self-help" type book.

Having said that, Burchard does mention his Experts Academy A LOT. I'm sure this has to do with the psychology of selling and marketing but dang, for those of us who are savvy to such techniques, seeing the reference to EA over and over can get a little annoying. (Es

I thought this was one of the strongest business books that I've read on starting your own business, becoming an expert and getting your message out. Brendon inspired me on many levels. I feel that is approach is very accessible. In fact, he almost makes it appear easy with regards to making lots of money from doing what you love. Since he is a living example of what he's talking about, I find it to be very empowering.

The thing I liked best about the Millionaire Messenger, is that Brendon understands the entrepreneurial mind. He knows what the entrepreneur wants to achieve and even how they want to achieve it. He then breaks that down with step-by-step directions on what the entrepreneur needs to do to achieve that, and focuses mostly on the thought processes necessary to do that.

On the downside, the book falls short on exacting steps to, for example, set up a website, though, as he says, there are plenty of
This stellar how-to gives all of us the principles and practices to help others and improve our own lives by sharing our expertise. In fact, in this book, Brendon shares a significant amount of his own multi-million-dollar expertise quite freely, and reading it will no doubt catapult you into action on your own.
I wouldn't have founded and begun working in earnest on my own book if I hadn't attended a four-day intensive with him (and 800 experts in a wide variety of field

I love Brendon Burchard's passion for his work and his passion for helping people. He also has incredible insight in leading his own path to success and then offering a blueprint for other's to pursue success. If you want to become an expert and use your expertise to produce income on your own terms, you will enjoy this book. Brendon has worked with some of the biggest stars in the self-help industry and he has the right approach- a heart based, servant leadership approach. The only thing that b ...more

“The Millionaire Messenger: Make a Difference and a Fortune Sharing Your Advice” by Brendon Burchard is a good outline of how to make money sharing and selling information. The book focuses on becoming an expert and capitalizing on that information with your story to build a profitable information or expert business.

In Burchard's plan, he teaches that you need to have low level introductory products that lead a person to higher paying products and services such as coaching and high fee seminars.

As we are creating course for freelancers for the very first time, this book really moved me, taught me lot of great ideas and affirmed lots of things which are important when helping other people succeed.

What I enjoyed in this book:

- Lots of actionable questions, I will return to, when we'll continually keep improving our own product
- Simple language, it was down to earth and really easy, yet powerful reading changing my thoughts.

What I learned?:

- Importance of always providing value, not gett

"The Millionaire Messenger" provides an excellent and executable framework for how to take your knowledge, productize it, promote it and sell it. The book's real strength are the 13 or so "sign-post" exercises (as part of his 10-step plan) that Burchard has you run through. These exercises help you determine what you know, how it can bring value to others and how to get started. His 10-step plan consists of: Determining your topic, picking your audience, determining the needs of that audience, d ...more

Brendon Burchard has boiled down everything a person needs to become an Expert. His step-by-step approach really appeals to my sense of needing to follow a plan. He not only shows you how to create content in your area of expertise but also provides a useful formula for making a good deal of money using this expertise. The steps are clear and informative and are followed by a series of questions that he calls Expert Signposts. They allow the reader to then define their own message and customer b ...more

Brendon Burchard is giving specifics to the overview philosophy that Timothy Ferriss outlines in his great book"The 4-hour workweek". Burchard demonstrates from his own life story how to take your experiences, and no matter how matter of fact they may seem to you, turn them into products, and sell your expertise and knowledge to those that can most benefit from it. From the beginning to the end, this is a great motivation, and handbook for building your expert business. Speaking yours, webinars, ...more

Nice book for inspiration, but I am not sure what to think about this story. It is like from fairy tale - "I have almost die and then I started help people and become millionaire" - could happen only in USA (czech and slovak people wouldn´t pay for this kind of consultancy).

Ive read through this book twice now, studying, highlighting and circling every gem I could find. The meat of the book is found from p49-123, specifically Chapter 5 - 10 Steps to an expert empire and Chapter 6 - The Millionaire messenger's money map. The bulk of this book is really good and I believe provides enough tips, examples and practical info to get anyone started on making a difference and an income sharing their advise with the world. It surprisingly covers various useful topics such as ...more

I got this book as part of a much larger package that I got with Brendon's company (Experts Academy). I was investing in myself because I was in the process of writing my first book and talking with a publishers.

Brendon provides you with a lot of good content that makes you think about the possibilities of what you can accomplish, and he gives you some direction of how you can move forward to reach those goals. However, my opinion is that he is treading on a thin line. After watching his videos
Not a self-help book per se; more of a rah-rah manual on how to get rich as an "Expert" (mainly by buying more services form the author). But not everyone can be a millionaire and not everyone should be an expert.
Very interesting as the other side of Bright-Sided How the Relentless Promotion of Positive Thinking Has Undermined America by Barbara Ehrenreich.

The book is a good one for those looking to start their own consulting business that helps and inspires others. I gave it a 3 because it's a bit over the top for my style, BUT I truly admire Brendon Burchard and have been to a few of his highly energetic and productive seminars. Out of all the "trainers" and passion catalysts out there, Brendon is the most believable and useful, IMHO.

Brendon Burchard is a good guy in my opinion. He has an incredible story and managed to use his life experiences to write a book that shows people exactly how to share their message and help others at the same time.

This book is packed with actual steps you can take to start and nurture you expert business. The one thing I love about Brendon is the way he lays out steps for you. He calls these Frameworks and he provided really detailed action steps for every part of the book.

Maybe I'm not ready for this message, but I can't say I was blown away by this book. I think it's chock full of great ideas... but I guess that's what made it feel a bit too instructional for me. I guess I had the preconception that it was a motivational book as well as instructional.
I'm going to give it another read in a month or so... and see if things resonate better for me then.
Hmm, Brendon is a very good speaker and would be great to see in person, but this recording seemed like it was done from home and it drove me a little nuts that there wasn't an end of CD marker, so often the CD would start over and I wouldn't notice for a few minutes. Okay, so let's talk about substance, this is targeted to someone that is thinking of becoming a motivational speaker (think Tony Robbins or Zig Ziglar), he does a great job of talking about how to get started in that industry and a ...more
Very motivating book. Gives great advice for anyone wanting to make tell their story to make a difference in someone's life.
This book was ok. Laptop Millionaire had more meat and gives specific examples to generate money online.

Good book on the inside world of the "Expert Industry". Brendan gives great 'best practices' and expert advice to people starting out as messengers and those further down the road. The one thing that turned me off is the emphasis on making millions. My motive for speaking and influencing others is not to make millions (though making a living at it would be nice!) but on changing lives. A little less push toward riches and fame would help the emphasis on helping others, which is also found in thi ...more

Brendon Burchard promises advice on how to make a difference and a fortune sharing your advice. I think he does a reasonable job delivering on that promise. Readers should keep in mind that Burchard is only promising a general framework -- not specific advice. However, he does include some provocative questions that really made me think about ways to capitalize on my personal experiences.

Overall, I liked the book and enjoyed the writing. I recommend it to anyone thinking of promoting themselves

Definitely provides an outline for achieving success in the expert industry. I'd consider it a good first book to read if you're interested in making this area your career.

Quick read on how to develop your voice and niche in a market while doing what you love. It is both practical and inspirational. The writing style needs some work. I found it hard to continue reading at times due to the voice it was written in. To sum the book up, pick something you love and can do for the rest of your life, position yourself as an expert, get over yourself, and start doing the work.
