I downloaded M Poetica (2nd edition) free from Amazon when it was made available to MJ fans by its author Willa Stillwater. While being very grateful for the author’s generosity, this meant that, from the start, I was disadvantaged by the fact that I had to read it as an electronic book… something I am not usually inclined to do. Let’s just say it’s not my preferred method of reading.

Never have I read a more in depth exploration of Michael Jackson's artistry. The author delves not only into the art of his works, but also his persona as well. Though it is mostly opinion based, it certainly got me thinking about my own perceptions, even as a fan. Her observations are very astute. Sometimes she goes off on tangents, which makes the book feel slightly unorganized, but it's all to prove important points.
