Inspiration fuel. Also, nightmare fuel, if you let it get to you. If you've read or seen anything along the lines of The Fourth Kind, especially. You know, anywhere where people are getting messages from "aliens" or "spirits" that speak Sumerian.

Because that's what this is. Sitchin fully believes that if you read the Sumerian tablets in their full glory and context, they tell you about Planet X, how it comes into the solar system every however-many millennia and how its inhabitants made us by co

Zachariah Sitchins books are detailed with actual translations of Ancient Cuniform (clay tablet) writings. They are Sumerian Writings , the language which brought about Aramaic, which in turn brought about Hebrew and Arabic. He is an Archeologist, and ancient script interpreter/translator. He delves into ancient texts, and clay tablet writtings, religious scriptures, artifacts, and drawings & visits museums, and sights of actual historical significance mentioned in various world scriptures, ...more

Wow... a must read for those trying to understand the history of Mankind. Sitchen puts together a solid case that humankind has not only been visited by an ancient race of highly advanced beings, that they may have been here as long as modern humans have. In fact they may be the "missing" link between our cave dwelling kin and homo-sapiens. Sitchen is a world renowned linguistic expert in ancient languages, specifically the cuneiform tablets of ancient Sumeria. Over 10,000 years ago, when mankin ...more

Genesis Revisited by Zecharia Sitchin. This is a followup book to the 7-volume Earth Chronicles and other tomes, which I have now read. I was thoroughly impressed by Sitchin’s love of the old testament and the original Hebrew, comparing it to the root words of Sumerian, Akkadian and Babylonian. My Amplified and concordance got a new workout. Fascinating. Basically, Sitchin’s works are a compendium of the many unearthed clay tablets and stone works, which have been translated over a 150-year span ...more

You'll never look at Genesis, or the Bible the same way again. I've always thought it was odd that there were TWO stories of the creation of Adam, and there's all these references to 'gods'. Also, the Lord just seems to be walking around and talking like a person. This book gives as good of a reason as any other for these instances. Also, reading the Bible straight through, 'god' of the old testament seemed to have most of the same 'flaws' that we do. Even though this book doesn't talk about tha ...more

this book is the most compelling read that could also be considered to be written by a quack. Stichin claims that humans are a hybrid species developed by an alien life form thousands of years ago. Build originally as slaves to work gold mines in Africa, we were eventually left on our own. He describes a planetary collision with a planet of our solar system that has a 3000 year solar orbit that created earth and the asteroid belt. There is much, much more where that comes from. But again, it's s ...more

A great philosopher once said an intelligent person can entertain an idea without accepting it. That is where I stand with this work by Sitchin. He believes that an alien race created human beings on earth and we can find hints to this in the ancient religious texts like the Bible. The author is no dummy, for sure. He knows how to make his position sound plausible. I was riveted, but not convinced. If his view happened to be true, it would answer a great many mysteries that traditional Christian ...more

This book tries to revisit the book of Genesis and the rest of the bible by considering new scientific discoveries.
Zacharia Sitchin is a well known Archelogist who is one of the few experts in old cultures and scriptures of Sumerian, Metsopotamian, Akkadian, Assyrian and ...
As he tells us, he is a reporter who can brings us too many unknown information from very ancient time.

I read this book years ago for my junior year, and it was way too complex for me then but I managed to muddle my way through it. I decided to re read it just for kicks. It speaks about the ancient Sumerian texts and the ideologies surrounding it. Part of the premise of the book delas with the belief that there is an ancient planet that circles the Earth every 2000 years and comes to inhabit the Earth for a short period of time. WHether you buy into the opinions or not, its an interesting read.

Read this in my deepest "Coast to Coast" listening days. Its alternative possible history is interesting but not developed enough to be considered realistic. A fair theory of how to explain unexplainable phenomenon, but my opinion is it is a stab in the dark.

Genesis Revisited was an overload of information I've heard, read, or learned before, so I was uninterested at first. It wasn't until the middle of the book that I became focused as experiments in genetics regarding not only animals in our current time but also the Annunaki and The Adam many eras ago were presented. Like always, Zecharia Sitchin glows in his forte, and the book is a good companion to The Twelfth Planet.

Ancient Aliens... History Channel.

Really enjoyed reading this -- started it when worked at a new-age-y health food store and all the employees believed in aliens. Fun read, and his detailed analysis seems plausible, but no one in the science community seems to think it is valid. Good, however, if you like to read about conspiracy theories, aliens, and any relationship between science and religion.
Rob
I’m not sure I necessarily agree with all the conclusions Sitchin draws but I must admit some of the evidence he offers as to Sumerian knowledge about the universe that modern science is beginning to unravel does raise some interesting questions. At the very least it makes for a compelling theory for reading ancient civilizations religions and beliefs.

A great review of The Earth's Chronicles indeed! But there are also some topics which I haven't heard about yet and it was really good to know some of his latest theories regarding the Annunaki/Nephilim. I really enjoyed every page of this book.

An overview of his previous writings, with some new information from the time added, this may be the author's best and the book to start first. After all the controversies and criticisms, Sitchin's theories still haunt and evoke wonder.

An interesting idea pieced together by an expert at translating Sumerian into English, but no Astronomer with any kind of PhD has ever taken the idea seriously.
