This is labeled as a early reader level 1 on the front cover but from other level 1 books my 3 year old granddaughter and I have read it's not a 'beginning beginning level 1' there are bigger words and full sentences within this book. But with that said it's a good on to help teach numbers and the numbers are spelled out. The child can learn to count things on the page within a pretty illustration not just a simple page. I don't enjoy productions like this: lisenced characters, simple yet not elegent, boring. But my 4 year old LOVES it. Goes to show, kids have different taste in books than their parents!
