Very enjoyable action/crime/mystery novel with an interesting cast of characters. I liked reading about the history of southern California and have been inspired to do some further reading about the legends of buried treasure in the California hills. This is my favorite kind of book to read (novel that includes local flavor and historical facts that enhance the story without overwhelming it). I hated to see the book end and would enjoy reading another Max Brodie mystery. If you like Elmore Leona ...more
