I feel very neutral about this book. For one thing, the artwork seemed quite a lot older than the publishing date indicates. It feels very 1980s. For another, I really prefer books about animals to contain at least a few paragraphs on a final page that teaches about the animals. This is just all silliness, when there could have been some potential to educate.

I was so lucky to find this book to use in our "Wolf! Wolf!" library story time! The children (and we get quite a crowd) listened with rapt attention.

In the story a little wolf asks his father wolf to sing him a good night song. I sang the verses to the tune of the refrain to the familiar camp song "I'm a Nut" The combination of good night song verses sung first by Big Wolf, next my Little Wolf, and finally-- after the SUDDENLY element and the THEN element, a surprise verse by a third wolf.
