This doesn't get old. Arthur Conan Doyle wrote these tales over 100 years ago, but they still feel fresh. These two volumes (1122 pages) entertained me between other reads for the entire summer. There are four novels and 56 short stories included in this compilation and none of them disappoints.

My love and admiration of Sherlock Holmes only grew with this second volume. I found myself intranced in every story and could rarely figure out who did it until Holmes made his final reveal and explanation. The best part is rereading the story after the tada! moment and seeing that all the clues are there if you look in the right way. I'm sad that my journey with Sherlock and Watson is over though they will be friends I return to again

Arthur Conan Doyle was born the third of ten siblings on 22 May 1859 in Edinburgh, Scotland. His father, Charles Altamont Doyle, was born in England of Irish descent, and his mother, born Mary Foley, was Irish. They were married in 1855.

Although he is now referred to as "Conan Doyle", the origin of this compound surname (if that is how he meant it to be understood) is uncertain. His baptism record
