Why are the most elite black-ops forces chasing a 16-year-old girl across the country? Why can't they find her? And why do they want to kill her? Because they think Lila Ellerman is a terrorist who released a deadly virus into the wild. But really, she's just a girl with a crush on a guy named Brandon. Yes, she's figured out the science of controlling anti-matter, but that...more

Since I read Pariah issue #2 before #1 I was a bit confused at first, but aside from that it was pretty good. Aron Warner is the Oscar Winning Producer of the SHREK franchise, so I wanted to check it out. After reading the second issue, I will be reading the first for sure.

The artwork is great in the comic, but what really pulled me in was the dialogue. With so little so say, Aron Warner can really pack a punch with his words. He's also quite witty.

Pariah Issue #2 doesn't pick up after the first Issue where Brent Marks gets captured and taken away. Instead it focuses on another Vitro, Lila Ellerman, who use to work at Marinus Labs along with other Vitros that fled with her when the "accidental" explosion happened.
This issue centers on what occurred first hand at the Labs and what caused the explosion. Apparently Lila and her other co-workers were not aware of who caused it and who used Lila's name to sign for the project. It all c...more

This comic picks up right where the first one left off, along with some background knowledge for readers. The focus of this novel is Lila Ellerman, she is a young Vitro who may be in trouble for something she didn't do. A deadly virus was released while Lila was away, she may be blamed for the sordid event. She needs to figure out a plan for protecting her friends and clearing her name.

Lila is a sympathetic character, she definitely didn't ask to become a Vitro. She shouldn't be blamed for some...more

Title: Pariah Issue #2
Author: Aron Warner and Philip Gellat
Illustrations by: Brett Weldele
Genre: Fantasy (graphic novel)
Format: paperback
Publisher: Sea Lion Books
ISBN: 9357372563

Lila is a Vitro, a super smart brand of human that the humans themselves created. Unfortunately, just as in the first Pariah issue the Vitro’s are being turned against, their super intelligence making them “freaks” and feared by everyone.
Lila thinks she and a group of Vitro’s have a good thing going at a scientific lab w...more

This edition of Pariah focuses on Lila Ellerman and her group of friends. From my understanding, they're all Vitros--genetically altered teens--on the run from the government who is trying to capture them.
Lila is being accused of a lab-explosion that released a virus into the air, which resulted in the government basically declaring war against the Vitros. They're all wanted; dead or alive. Lila and her friends are running for their lives, when all Lila really wants to do is go back to the way...more

My Rating: ★★★★☆

In the first issue of Aron Warner’s Pariah, we got to know a bit about Brent and what he is—a genetically enhanced teen suddenly being tracked down by the government for nothing more than his Vitro status. In this second issue, the focus is on Lila Ellerman, a sixteen-year-old Vitro who was working in the Marinus Labs at the time...more

OOHHHH....More of the geniuses - more of the Vitros. It seems Mr. Warner is introducing us to more and more of these incredibly brilliant people. I can tell he is setting the stage for something incredible, whether it be a full out war or an attempt to coerce the Vitros into helping 'them' take over the world.

This issue takes us to a lab. A lab where many Vitros have been learning, and where many of the Vitros have gathered. Then something terrible happens. Someone is being framed. Hiding out in...more

A big thank you to Sea Lion books for sending me a copy of this to review!

This is the second comic in the Pariah series and this time around the story is told from Lila Elllerman's point of view.
Lila is a sixteen year old Vitro who was working in the Marinus lab when the disaster struck, so we see a first hand experience of what happened in the labs at the time.

Lila also discovers that she is the one being framed for the disaster, when she knows that she had nothing at all to do with those virus...more

Pariah 02:
This volume has a different main character than the first in the series. The main character is still a Vitros who is facing discrimination.
This series is interesting, and as I keep reading I find I am more interested in what is happening.
People judge others every day. Who will watch the kids, who to be friends with, who to hire or not, and who to sit by in class or at lunch are basic examples of judging others. Sometimes this judgment is based on personal preferences, but what happen...more

Lila Ellerman, the star of Issue #2 is not your average boy chasing teenager. She is a survivor from the events that happened in Issue #1. Now she and other Vitro’s have fled deep into the woods and are fighting for the survival against a government who is set on controlling them, or worse, killing them. So what’s a girl to do when she is on the run and being framed for a crime she didn’t commit? She be...more

Recently I reviewed issue #1 of Aron Warner’s newest comic Pariah. I liked the concept of a group of genius teens called “Vitros” who are on the run from the government after being framed for creating and releasing a deadly virus into the world. Issue #1 introduced us to Brent and his capture by government forces. I enjoyed the minimalist art work and the muted colors, but the story hadn’t grabbed me. I felt it wouldn’t have been fair to make a judgment ab...more

The 2nd in the graphic novel series “Pariah” by Aron Warner, this story focuses on Lila Ellerman, who is living in the Bitterroot mountains of Montana (lovely area, by the way). A number of the vitros, who had formerly worked at Marinus labs, have taken refuge in the forests, trying to stay ahead of the US forces who seek to capture – or kill – them. The lab exploded in “Pariah 1,” releasing a toxin and leading to the declaration of vitros as terrorists. The effects of the toxin are … really gru...more

In issue one of Pariah the first main character the reader is introduced to was Brent Marks, a vitro trying to fit in with the rest of the crowd and live a normal life at a normal school, even though he’s smarter than everyone around him including his average, couch potato parents. Unfortunately for Brent after a disaster at a lab that is being dubbed a terrorist attack by a group of vitros he is suddenly labeled as dangerous and is captured in his own home by the government. Issue two of Pariah...more

The issue is set in Montana 2025 and we are introduced to Lila Ellerman formally of The Marinus Labs. Like Brent from issue #1 she is a vitros. She is being hunted down because of what she is and her knowledge. But she's done nothing wrong or the criminal they claim she is. First off let me say the cover art for this issue is outstanding, I love it. Lila is very strong character, I enjoyed reading about her. Pariah #2 is another action filled story. If you love dystopian or futuristic stories yo...more

The second issue of Pariah. This is the story of Lila, another Vitro, and one of the Vitros that had been working for the lab that exploded in the first volume. In this issue we follow her and all the other Vitros from the lab, while they are trying to run away in the woods and fight against every army that comes after them.

Better than the first one since we learn a little bit more about the world of the Vitros, but still is missing something. I think when all the stories will connect with each...more

Even though I was surprised to see that this issue featured another character, I really liked how it was presented. Answers were given, but even more questions arose.
The art stunned me even more, this time around. I reall do like the style.

I have to thank Sea Lion Books for the opportunity to read this.

This one is setting up the story with new characters to interest the reader. The idea of a race of super genius kids is interesting and I enjoyed this one. What will happen? Will they be hunted down? The drawings keep your interest and the story keeps you reading.

If you enjoy graphic novels you will enjoy this series. I will be reviewing this and others on my blog in a few weeks. Thanks Check this one out!!!

In Issue #1 we learned about Brent a Vitro (term in the Pariah world meaning people with high intelligence). This time around we see things from the perspective of Lila Ellerman a sixteen year-old girl who is actually involved in the explosion that is at the center of the trouble and persecution of other Vitros in Pariah Issue #1. She's on the run with her group of Vitros where the governmment is trying to round t...more

Hope you weren’t losing sleep wondering what was going to happen to Brent, you’re out of luck. Brent isn’t the only Vitro in the world and in this issue we’re introduced to Lila Ellerman and the world of Pariah gets bigger.

That's only the start of my review. I loved this book! Read more over at...

I haven't read a graphic novel for a long time & found it fun.

This is the 2nd in the Pariah series & follows Lila Ellerman escaping from the labs & into the Montana forest. The Vitros are hiding out & trying to find out what is going on in the real world. Their signal gets located & they are found. What happens next, we'll have to wait & see.
