A nice collection of Zombie tales. I didn't give it a five star review because in a book of various stories {and poems} by different authors there will be some you like and some you don't. It does provide the opportunity to check out authors you might not be familiar with. I recommend this book to all.
While the ebook itself had some issues with formatting on my Kobo (wonky font sizes galore even within the same story), I enjoyed the anthology. Obviously I preferred some of the tales over the others, Chantal Boudreau's story What A Man's Gotta Do and Jeremy Coe's How Do You Kill What's Already Dead were both standouts for me, I found myself wanting to know more about the characters and/or their universe after the story ended.
Seeing the impressive line-up of writers in this anthology, I was expecting good things, and I can honestly say that I wasn’t disappointed. For starters, the opening story was probably one of the most enjoyable in the bunch. I wasn’t anticipating a Christmas story, but it was a moving and well-written tale with a ghoulish “gift of the magi” theme, a great contribution from Joe McKinney. It put me in the right mood for the stories that followed.

When I first started reading this on my Kindle I was impressed and enjoying the various stories. As the e-book progressed I became bitterly disappointed at the spelling mistakes and grammatical errors. I know some people don't mind so long as the story is engaging, but for me it pulls me from my imagination and spoils the story. Like all books with various authors, some of the stories were engaging for me, others just sucked. I won't name the ones that sucked because they could be some people's...more
Some great poetry and nice quirky zombie stories with some interesting twists.
However, there are quite a few that are just plain awful! Badly written, badly thought out, & just total drivel! Without wanting to name & shame any writer in particular, one story had me shouting abuse at it it was that bad.
It was like half way through an adolescent teenage boy with no writing capabilities whatsoever had decided to finish the story and nobody had even bothered to do a grammar or spell check...more

I have not read a zombie book in awhile and this collection of short stories was just the thing to peak my interest in reading more. Each story had its own tale with the author of each having their own unique style. I found some stories quicker to read, they really grabbed you, while some took time to build. But in the end, the entire collection was done well. It is not an easy thing to bring so many authors together for a anthology like this because of the many different styles of writing. This...more
