I will be honest here. I don't know what to rate this book. I had quite a few issues with this book, including excessive word repetition and very little to no dialogue throughout the book. The author is very close to her family yet the reader is not allowed into a conversation between family members but rather told by the author what Mom and Dad said. I'm a couple hundred pages in and I think I'm done. I'm an RSD patient and I find this book to be so over the top dramatic that I just can't take it. It's a non-stop series of temper tantrums so far. I have RSD in the same hand and I had the same bloated claw. I have dealt with obnoxious doctors, painful physical therapy, etc. Not once did I ever throw a tantrum, not even when it spread. I found this very helpful, hopeful, and informative. I also had very similar feelings of guilt, self-hatred, depression, anxiety, intensity of protecting myself and my affected limbs etc. which although these feelings are not particularly healthy (at least to have for a long time) it was nice to know that someone going through a similar situation/journey felt the same things. Nicole does a very good job of taking the reader into the ugly world of chronic pain. This book will take you on a journey through Nicole's eyes on the pain and frustration of being mis diagnosed from Doctor to Doctor off the very nasty disease, RSD. Very inspirational, indeed!!!
