Okay... here is all I have to say... I love the journey that this series is taking the reader... but I really wish that they made Darth Caedus to be more of a bad ass. Its like, for the past 3 volumes he's been getting his butt kicked by every member of the Star Wars universe. Also, I don't understand how all of the people that hear that he is a dark lord are kinda like, "oh... okay." It just seems like a little bit of an understatement of the severity of the issues that are surroun...more

Book 8 of 9...

Jacen is reeling. The galaxy is in turmoil and alliances are being forged and broken on a daily basis. The Empire Remnant is brought into the story and another one of my favorite characters is killed in a way that just wasn't fitting in my mind.

Jacen finds himself in the middle of a 3 way war where the sides are constantly shifting. The mandalores are in the thick of it, showing us why they are such feared warriors. Yet another one of my favorite characters from the past (I...more

This book has a lot going for it. You find out some interesting things about Boba Fett's past. A significant character from past series returns and plays a large role. Jacen continues his descent in mind boggling ways. That being said, this is the second-to-last book in a phenomenal series and I felt like it should have brought me to the mother of all cliff hangers that the final book would then resolve. Instead, it sort of limps through the last couple chapters, focusing on character developmen...more

Some spoilers

This book I think may have saved the series.

Basically, the Skywalker/Solo clan finally realizes that Jacen has to be dealt with. This book shows that Revelation, and how they come to it. The subplot is really an explanation about why Boba Fett is the way he is. Pretty well done. Also, a tertiary plot about the child of two of the characters from the Republic Commando series and one of the main supporting characters from the same series.

I'm still ticked about how th...more

This is the eighth book in the series and has a lot of emotional power. There's nothing like being with a group of characters for eight books to create an emotional attachement and a sense of understanding. These three authors have done a great job in writing this story. In this book Karen Traviss proves that she can write a powerfully emotional scene, even in the Star Wars universe. Read the series from the first, slog through some rather boring but necessary middle work and you'll be rewar...more

Great entry in the series. A couple very minor flaws related to continuity, but who can write in this incredibly busy universe without any mistake?

Nice plot driven adventure, good pacing. Characterizations are also well served by the portrayals here, great treatments of the Mandalorians and Jaina.

For my dime, Karen Traviss could have done a better job with some of the poorer entries in this series. Fine work! Very enjoyable.

Eighth book in the Legacy series, it is one of the lesser page-turners. The author spends considerable time focusing on the personal issues of Boba Fett and not on the action takingplace all over the galaxy. Even the climatic battle was disappointing. The author was finishing her niche (Boba Fett) in the storyline before the ninth and final book. The result was the most stagnant volume in the series. As a result, it stands out significantly from the others in the series - even the other two...more

I apparently read this at a busy time, and can no longer remember when I finished it, or truly, how well it was written. I believe it was written well enough, and I even enjoyed it, although it (if I remember correctly that is) didn't involve many of the characters overmuch.
And some characters are just okay to read about. And well, perhaps not my favorites. So really, not a bad book or anything, just not something that really stands out in my memory.

While I still think that the series is a couple of books long, this is one of the best of the series. Karen Traviss has constantly turned out the best work of the three authors working on it, and this book does not disappoint. A little convoluted, but it is really starting to make sense now. Just wish it had not taken so long to get there. Another couple of months before we see th next one, but I will be looking forward to it.

I'm not a big fan of Karen Travis, and was not looking forward to this installment because of that. However, she was finally able to weave Boba Fett into the story well enough to not make it seem so much like a plug for her favorite character. Although I missed having the participation of some of the other main characters, the story did a wonderful job tying things together and setting up for the final book in the series.

First half would have gotten 2 stars. 2nd half would have gotten 4. I'm getting a bit tired of Traviss' writing style, but she wowed me with the 2nd half. The ending was actually fairly emotional for a SW title (especially a Traviss SW title). Still unimpressed with the author's cooperation in this series. It feels like each novel is a bit of an alternate reality version of the same story.

An excellent read for the most part. The story is pretty well paced and interesting.

I'm a bit disappointed that Jacen, in his ongoing transformation in Darth Caedus, is starting to make stupid moves.

I just picked up the ninth and final book at the library today. I really hope it doesn't end with Jacen wussing out on the dark side.

This is the next book due out in this 9 book series and I am chomping at the bit to get my hands on it! This series represents the hand-off of the Star Wars mythos and legacy from one generation (Luke, Han, Leia, etc.) to the next. If the Detroit Lions could do hand-offs this well, we'd be well on our way to a Super Bowl team!

Better than your typical penultimate entry in a long series. This one actually had several key payoffs. Overall the series is still a disappointment, but Traviss' work with Boba Fett and his family/culture have without question been an unexpected bright spot, and the best part of the whole endeavor.

Histories unearthed...suspicions confirmed...identities revealed...this book lives up to the title Revelation though I might have tacked "s" onto the end of it.

Another excellent addition to the Legacy of the Force series. I'm anxious to read the 9th and final book...

All building towards a confrontation between Jaina and Jacen, and you really hope Jaina kicks his butt. Honestly, Jacen's getting a little annoying with his certainty that he's doing the right thing and not making Anakin's mistakes. I mean, even Anakin knew he was being heinous.

Slow and plodding for the first 3/4's of the book.... then it all hits the fan and was quite enjoyable.

Overall there was far too much introspection between plot points or even in the middle of conversations and WAY too much obsession with the Mandalorians.

I have never claimed that these SW tie-in novels worked as great literature, but I am sad that they are no longer working as guilty pleasures.
