Stunning photography paired with children's poetry and artwork from 192 countries. Beautifully laid-out and completely accessible for kids (and adults) of all ages. If I had had this book as a child I would have returned to it time and again. Will purchase for my own classroom.

Educators looking for opportunities to increase awareness and appreciation of diverse cultures should reach for this well-crafted book to enhance a variety of social studies, geography, art, and literature units. Grades 3-6. Great book for sharing during a world culture study. Each country features artwork by a local child, a poem by a local child, a photograph of a local child and then 3 very basic facts about the language, food and activities children in that country enjoy. Beautiful.

This is a wonderful book. I saw it in the library where I worked. Immediately it caught my eye on the shelf but it needed fixing. Well it made its way back to the shelf where I noticed it again and just had to read it.

This book gives us a little information about different places around the world. It has a piece of artwork and poem by local children. Gives the country's official name and interesting facts under that. Shows a photo of child/children from that country. If you read this you are su...more

This is a book of all the countries in the UN. They have a photograph of the children of that country with a poem and drawing of a child of that country. This would be a great way to look at "visual poetry" How can we learn about these countries in a way that transcends language? This is a photo gallery in a book.
