But what if there were real witches during those colonial hunts? What if there are witches in present day New England? That is what Alexandria Ramsey’s crazy grandmother believes. Grandma Claudia claims Alex desce...more

This is a New Book, It was great. I loved it, it is a young adult novel, the 1st in a 4 book series.. I Loved the way the author draws you in, you love the characters, and the story line has some really good twist, I didn't see coming! I am a fan of Bellingeri, I am looking forward to the next one.

This will probably be most enjoyed by an actual YA, although I am in the beginning of the second in the series of the four books. Parque? or Pourqoi?

This book does require a leap of imagination that I am not sure most adults would tolerate, or some YA. Therefore my 4 star rating is intended for those who would most likely seek this kind of book and read it.

What's appealing about this book for a general reader is the coming of age of a young woman and witch. There are no desperate laws of attract...more

Very good book. I was pleasantly surprised. It is a well thought out story, that has left many directions to go in the next one. I love young adult novels, and this one did not disappoint.

This was really a good book, I can't wait for the next one! She really had me guessing all the way through, very well thought out. I am happy to have a new series to look forward to.

Fan-freaking-tastic story! I haven't read very many books about witches and I must say that this one makes me want to read some more (mainly book 2, which I'll have to wait a little while for). New England Witch Chronicles (NEWC) is awesome, extremely fast paced, exciting, very dramatic at times, and I will say that I cried a little, maybe a lot (yes, it was that amazing). While the scary elements I didn't find to be anywhere near the fear factor found in horror books (which is good because I'm...more

Goodness, I can't even express how much I liked this book! This exciting story flowed so perfectly, I literally was under it's spell until the very last page!
Alex is a typical teenager, but things start to get weird, really weird. --She keeps having these crazy nightmares and objects seem to shatter around her when her emotions are too high. But to make things worse a new boy is in town; he knows just how to get under her skin and is trying to come between her and her best friend, Peter. First l...more

This book was amazingly good! I downloaded it for free during a promotion as a change of pace from my other reading, not realizing that it was more of a young adult novel, and was immediately impressed by how well written and edited it was! It was certainly on a par with anything I've read by more well known writers.

Alexandria Ramsey is a junior at the exclusive Hawthorne Prep school in Hazel Cove, Massachusetts, and just a few days away from her 17th birthday. When another young girl in town g...more

Despite some editing issues that bugged me, I was totally engrossed in Chelsea Bellingeri's Debut novel. It had excellent momentum, an interesting twist at the end and a cliff hanger setting up book 2. There was a lot of excellent potential here and my hope is that the second book finds a good publisher or at least an independent editor to iron out some of the rough spots.

Why, you ask? I found there to be a lot of inconsistencies that were disconcerting and sometimes confusing which took away fr...more

I LOVED this book! Within the first 10 pages, I was hooked! And when I say hooked, I really mean it. I could not put the book down! I read it all in one sitting. New England Witch Chronicles is well written, interesting, and it flows really well. I was sucked right into the story and I loved every second of it.

Alex, or Lex, is a really likable character. She was loyal and strong willed. Her loyalty was what I liked the most about her. I have seen one too many flaky main characters in the past y...more

I could not put this series down!!! I was literally at the gym when I finished the second one and I sat there on the treadmill buying the 3rd so I could start it while I finished my workout.

By the end of each book you can't help but to have to read the next to find out what is going to happen. I am impatiently awaiting the 4th installment. It took me 2 weeks to weeks to read all 3.

You love the main character's. Alex is Strong and even though she has so much to deal with she still keeps going and...more

Good book, really good. It’s been a while since I’ve found a new series where it starts off good and stays good or even gets better.

Alex and Peter are great together, so often like in many series one or the other person in a couple keeps secrets and things from each other and it ends up biting them in the butt, but I like the way Bellingeri doesn’t do that, they are honest with each other (well once they get past the awkwardness of finding out they love each other) and work together to figure th...more

I love the story and the way it was written. It's the right mix of everything that I seldom find and enjoy in one book.

Alex is a full blooded witch, descended from two different covens. More than that, she was born on Halloween. That she might emerge to be one of the most powerful witches makes the Gamma Omicron Delta (G.O.D.) Fraternity worried. Gamma believes that so much power in one person is dangerous, so the sole purpose of the fraternity is to study witches, observe them, and eradicate if...more

The first word that comes to mind when I think about 'New England Witch Chronicles' is WOW! I didn't really know what to expect when I started reading it. I read the description for the book, thought it sounded interesting so I agreed to review it. I never knew what I was getting into or that I would love it this much! I mean, I'm totally blown away! I can't believe that this book has not gotten more recognition than what it has, it's incredible! I also can't believe that I haven't heard of it b...more

67% in and I'm stunned this has gotten so many great reviews. I live in MA and I love paranormal books but this is like a bad tv show on the WB.

First, the characters are high school students. All angsty with a love triangle and mean parents.

Second, 67% in and almost nothing much paranormal has happened other than a light blows up and a murder in the town with vague references of the murder-ee being a witch.

Dissapointed so far since I bought all three of the books based on the rave reviews. I'...more

I won this book through the Goodreads First Reads program.

An absorbing YA Paranormal thriller/mystery.

Alex Ramsey is a sixteen year old girl living in Massachusetts, not too far from Salem (famous for the witch trials of the 17th century.) Her parents are emotionally distant, but otherwise Alex has a good support group, including her life-long best friend , Peter. When new boy James comes to town, strange things start to happen. Alex begins to have disturbing dreams, and ever increasing brushes...more

The book takes place in modern day Massachusetts in a town very close to Salem, Massachusetts home of the 1692 Witch Trials. Alex's life has always been pretty normal she has a best friend named Peter who she's know since they were babies, supportive friends, but the one thing different is her family situation. She's never been close to her parents Emma and Victor Ramsey, in fact Victor and Alex almost hate each other. Her mother Emma is a drunk but the only supportive family member she has is h...more

cute story i enjoyed the read
I can't give this book a three because although the story line was good. I did not get know Peter as I would have liked her pretty much seemed like a non entity in the story and then he turns out to be the love of Alex's is life. I think it is because there were too many characters, logan lucas sadie, olivia, jillian, anna marie, bradley, victor emma and this list goes on. There were too many characters passing through for me to focus.

I'm never usually one to enjoy books about witches. However, i've found myself a new favourite from this book! The characters are engaging, encouraging you to feel strong emotions towards even the most basic and briefest of characters. Making you feel as a reader, fully engaged. Along with the air of mystery in the story surronding Alex's new discoveries. So, in conclusion? This book is bloody amazing and everyone should read it!

New England witch chronicles had me from the first sentence. I read this book in less than a day. This is actually the first book about witches that I have really been interested in. Chelsea I have to say this New England Witches Chronicles is by far the best one out there and I reccomend it to everybody whether your 70 or 13. Please keep the books coming.

I though for a YA book it was very interesting. I read this book in a few days because it kept my interest.

I thought the story was well written and flowed easily. The story was a good for all ages. Until this book I have nevr read any think by Chelsea Bleeinger but after reading this series I will be watching out for other books by her.

I have to say, I was a little weary at reading this book first, and it was number whatever in my long quest to download and read as many free teen/young adult books. It was great! While I may not know about writing, I enjoyed it - except I thought the main character wa a little dramatic, but who doesn't love drama?
Ashleigh
great book! I honestly couldn't put it down... I was hooked after just the first few pages.

I cant wait to continue the series! Of course, I wasn't surprised to find out Victor was involved with the murders. I suspected him from the beginning, but the others were a surprise.
Rosie Amber
A very good book about a popular subject. Well thoughtout and researched. I am a fan of the teen book sector as they are usually well written and don't go into too much gruesome detail which is often a bit too disturbing. Good luck with the rest of the series.
Shelby
This was a very interesting story, I loved Alex from the start, it had a lot of twists which I enjoy and had me guessing all the way through it. The ending really left me wondering why? I only wish the next one in the series was done. Can't wait.

Very good book. Even though it's geared towards teens us adults can enjoy it also and it has all the right elements to keep us entertained. There's mystery, magic, some romance; it's a very good read.
