I am not the target audience for this book; I sometimes work with children with Down syndrome, but am not the parent of a child with Down syndrome.

The author's tone is very conversational. Dude. It worked for her. The metaphor about Down syndrome as a tightly buttoned yellow raincoat didn't, so much. I love person-first language, and believe that calling a child, a child with Down syndrome rather than a Down syndrome child transcends political correctness to convey an important idea, that of hu

This book is very good. It has a lot of good information and advice for anyone caring for a child with disabilities, not just Down Syndrome. I would recommend this book to anyone how has family with Down Syndrome.

Full of information and her style is engaging. I will probably revisit the book through the years as we hit different stages.

This book was an easy read and gave a good perspective to thought behind parent action. I am not a parent but work with parents of children with Downs Syndrome. I like the book.
