Long before reading : Must...resist..urge...to go on...rampage...over...publication...date...GAAAAAAAAH!!! *throws self-control out the window and goes on rampage with an ax screaming hysterically*

After reading: on a scale of 1 to 10, this book was epic! I loved it! It certainly did not disappoint! X-D

holy green lantern glowing Nick ,
the cover is glowing and blinding me! lol love it!

The world of the Dark-Hunters is unlike anything you’ve every seen before. It’s dark. It’s gritty. It’s dangerous…

And it’s a whole lot of fun and a lot of laughs.

My name is Nick Gautier and this is the story of my life.

First off, get the name right. It’s pronounced Go-shay not Go-tee-ay or Goat-chay (that has an extra H in it and as my mom says we’re so poor we couldn’t afford the extra letter). I’m not some fancy

There are distinct comparison from an emotionally-draining read to emotionally-tugging read. I think Infamous had pulled the latter best. This is a heartfelt read, even when you read crazy things like demons possessing people or crazy rich billionaire heir who worked as busboy.Yes, its in this one book that I claimed to be heartfelt. It is because it caught me at times when I least suspected. The vulnerable part of emotions being portrayed by the casts; Nick, and espe...more

Infamous, by Sherrilyn Kenyon pretty much says it all.. who needs to actually write a review? But I will try. When JK Rohling wrote Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince, I hated it. It wasn’t because it was dark, I got that, it wasn’t poorly written, it wasn’t about the fact that the world was out to get Harry, No. It was about the fact that 15 year old Harry had a huge attitude. It took me forever to realize that it was the only realistic thing in the book. I had a 15 year old male child at t...more

WOW, WOW, WOW!!! Another awesome book by Sherrilyn Kenyon. I have been waiting for this one since Invincible and it was so worth it. Nick continues to grow but never losing his hilarious cajun roots. I was literally laughing out loud on serveral occasions, which was not good because I was at working listening to the audiobook. Are you trying to get me fired Ms. Kenyon? And the cliffhanger at the end. OMG! I won't spoil it for those who haven't finished it, but it is going to be a shocker. I didn...more

This keeps getting better...

I think:
Sherrilyn Kenyon, where've you been hiding?! How has it been that I have never read one of your books before?
And then I look at her other books....
Um, that's why

Note to self....no matter how awesome Kyrian and the other Dark-Hunters may be, the other books just look SKETCH.
And I mean sketch.
So anyway, that little side tidbit aside.....

THIS BOOK WAS GOOD.

I'm addicted.
Entirely.

I found Nick less irritating in this book than in the previous ones. I guess he must be maturing.

Things aren't going well. Someone is spreading vicious rumors and horrible pictures of Nick's classmates that's causing the students serious emotional and physical harm. And, his demon Father finally decides it's time to make his play against Nick. Nick spends much of the book getting beat up, verbally abused and unconscious. Not a good time.

What I liked most about this book was that we got more back...more

There are times I sometimes forget why I love to read so much. Life gets busy, television is easier because I can have it on and do a thousand other things at the same time. I do love to read but time management for it is hard.

Because of this time constraint, I forget just how wonderful a great book can really be. Every time this happens, Sherrilyn Kenyon reminds me of what a true storyteller can do.

In reading Infamous, the third book in the Chronicles of Nick series, I was transported to New Or...more

This is the most amazing book ever!!!! It's the third book in the Nick Chronical series and is the the best so far. Nick faces all the troubles of school, like his teacher, the principle, Stone, things trying to kill him, and a website posted for the whole school to see that attacks alot of kids including Nick and his friend Briana. He has to go to court because he is accused of rape and also has to save Briana from suicide. On top of that he finds a deep secret about his girlfriend Kody that ma...more

Again the story line is interesting and strong. I wish the dialogue were elevated a bit more, I think our youth can read better than we give them credit for (think Hunger games, or even harry potter). But what really bothered me in this book were two things. First, like the first book there were many microaggressions of homosexuality. The male characters can show each other any form of attention other than aggression without needing a homophobic remark to prove they weren't coming on to one anot...more

This is Kenyon's third installment of the series Chronicles of Nick and just like her latest book, I did not enjoy this one at all. It lacked good action and her characters are not interesting anymore.

Nick: Nick (older, DH version) is more interesting than this kid who keeps on getting grounded by his mom. This Nick is just a high-school kid going through puberty and learning about the DH world. Some people may like this Nick series, but I don't because I just don't find the kid version of him i...more

I was really looking forward to this book after reading the first two of the series and I was actually really disappointed. My review is going to contain a large number of spoilers...

(view spoiler)[A very angry classmate of Nick's is one of the main enemies of this book. The person starts off by presenting some highly pornographic photoshopped images of one of the nicest girls in the school. Then a website is launched revealing all sorts of sordid secrets about the students, pointing the finger...more

The books in the Chronicles of Nick series are so addictive. As soon as I finish one, I want to read the next book! Sadly, after finishing Infamous I realised that book four, Inferno, won’t be out for a while. It’s going to be a long wait!

Infamous started with Nick finding out that Ambrose was actually his future self and the whole scene between the two of them was hilarious. Nick could make a joke out of anything – even serious matters such as becoming the reason for the end of the world. And f...more
Dark Faerie Tales
Review Courtesy of Dark Faerie Tales

Quick & Dirty: A teenager that has a price on his head for the powers he has yet to master. Full of fighting, both with demons and his mother; and I think that Nick would rather go up against demons any day than the petite woman that’s raising him.

Opening Sentence: If banging your head against a brick wall burned a hundred and fifty calories as hour as they said it did, then Nick should be emaciated.

The Review:

Let’s pretend for a moment. Let’s say that you...more

I am such a huge fan of SK work- especially her DH and CON series. This one ended w/ such a cliff hanger I wanted to cry. I listened to the audiobook and I actually rewound it to see if I missed something. I didn't. ugh- I can't wait for the next one to come out. Ok and I am curious how this is going to work into the overall DH universe. Everything is so different from what happened in the entire DH series up until this point.

Random question- why doesn't nick just tell ash what he is? Wouldn't t...more

This is the third book in the "Cronicles of Nick" and you probably need to read it if you want to continue the series. I honestly consider to wait with the next books a few years. Why?

Because it gets more and more confusing, Nick gets mobbed, nagged and beaten several times. He meets more supernatural beings and his mom is my new favorite "hate" person. Seriously? Nick would be much better of with her. I can't even expres how much her behaviour annoyed me. If not for the excelent narrator (yes,...more

Third in the Chronicles of Nick urban fantasy series focusing on Nick Gautier as a child. (Sort of runs parallel with the Dark-Hunters series.)

My Take
The theme song here is of fighting and love. All within the ADD of teen hormones and Malachai tendencies with an interesting exploration of the effects of love which helps Nick figure out how to combat his own demonic nature. He also starts to learn to stand up for himself. Especially with his mother! And about time.

That Nick is such a crackup! I d...more

Having said that I won’t bother reading any more of Kenyon’s books in my review of Invincible, I’m not quite sure why I picked this book up. I was reading Above by Leah Bobet, and not really enjoying it so maybe that’s why, but I’m pleasantly surprised by the fact that I didn’t hate Infamous.

Whereas I found the humour and sarcasm in the first two books irritating and overdone, I actually laughed at some of Nick’s antics in this one. I even liked him…and I’m feeling a bit confused by it.

Did someone swap out the Ms. Kenyon I've been dutifully following? I did not like this book at all. This book was a hot mess for me. Or perhaps this is how it supposed to be since it's a young adult book. If this is what young adult books are supposed to be like, then it's a damn good thing I never had books like this when I was a young adult.

The characters

Reading this book, I found a new side of myself that I honestly never thought existed. Now, before you think I mean that in a good way, stop. I bought this book the day it came out. I was first in line for it. I read it in one day and it took me until today to write the review because I just could not trust myself not to blow up in fury.

Never in my whole existence have I EVER wanted to reach into a book, wrap my hands around the neck of a fictional character and squeeze. I have never felt so fu...more

To be honest, throughout the book i feel like the author leaves substance to the setting, never as concrete and in the first two books the plot in my opinion was semi-loose. I've not read the Dark Hunter series as of yet (and believe me i want to desperately now!) so I'm thinking its because she's beginning to write books for more of a teen based audience where she gets into her character as a person rather than whats happening around him (and man does she get into her character). As the books p...more

Nick Gautier's life becomes more complicated and unbelievable as he realizes he has the potential to become the most evil and destructive creature in the universe. And a few months ago, all he thought he had to worry about was disappointing his mom, wearing tacky shirts and getting beat up at school. Will he be able to keep hold of his humanity or will he lose it all?

I can't even begin to describe how much I loved this book. It is young adult technically but there are so many spots that really hit me as thought provokingly amazing that I see no reason why fans of the Dark-Hunter series wouldn't also enjoy this series. I've only read about 10 of the books in the adult series, it is hard to catch up when there are 20+ books, but I have enjoyed them and enjoy this YA series even more. There were a lot of great moments but the one that made me laugh the most was...more
