Ladybugs and Fireflies is a southern romance that has all the makings of a southern world. With a small town, the southern heat (in more ways than one), and people strolling down the road knowing everyone they pass by their first name, it is clear that Alldredge knows this world.
The book itself is short, sweet, light, and something I imagine many women would enjoy while sitting out at the lake, or in a sunroom drinking a glass of lemonade or sweet tea. The sex in this book is light, traditional,...more

I received the book in the mailbox this afternoon from the author, Cheryl Alldredge. I set right down and read it immediately. It is a short book of 141 pages. It was just what I needed for a quick lazy summer day of reading. It was a cute little Southern Romance book. If you like light romantic reading, I think you would enjoy this book. Being a Gigi (Great Gramma) it was an okay read, however, I think the 20-40 years old will enjoy reading it much more so than I did.

Initially, when I went to read the book I thought it sounded good, but after reading a couple of books that I hated, I put off reading this because I feared hating this one too.
I’m happy to say that I really enjoyed this book. I was a little leery about the conflict between Callie and Taylor and how they would resolve it, but I was pleased with the story and resolution of the misunderstanding.

Ladybugs and Fireflies was a delight to read. The southern setting was fun and came alive through Miss Alldredge's excellent skill at description. Her hero is sexy and sweet. The heroine is smart and sassy. I loved the interweaving of family drama and conflict and the down-home feel of this book. Miss Alldredge has a smooth, easy-to-read style that I thoroughly enjoyed. I will definitely look for more books from her. This is a short book, but it's packed full of romance and is a great read.
Callie and Taylor are as different as night and day--or so they think. But they take a chance that ends in apparent disaster. Can love make a way? Red-blooded, classic romance with heart!
I loved Taylor and Callie! And the ending was so cool! I didn't see that coming. :) There were a few minor typos and Taylor said a couple of things that I thought were a little un-alpha male, but none of that detracted from this great read. Once I started, I couldn't put it down. The author did a superb job of describing the town and people, creating a perfect movie in my mind. I'd definitely recommend Ladybugs and Fireflies to others.
